Internship Experience

I completed my class 12 with 95.25% and the result of our batch was declared in the month of July. After that DU forms were out on their Website and we need to fill them by 31st August. The submission of documents and form fees was done online. I applied through Sports quota also and there I need to attach three certificates of volleyball of past one year only. Then after a wait of 2 months, DU cut off was finally out on 10 October. For batch of 2020, the cut off was really high, it was very difficult to choose a college. I finally filled in for the BCom program course.Then every week, there was a new cut off of DU. In the 6th cut-off, I received a B.Com Hons course in Kamala Nehru College. I changed 2 -3 colleges in the cut-offs. The whole admission process was online, so there was no need to visit the college. I got admission through the sports quota.

I choose this course as I have a keen interest in all the subjects and want to pursue it as them as my higher education subjects. In knc, there is only one section of b.com Hons students with the strength of 45 students. For every subject, we are allotted, one teacher. As I started my college in the pandemic, so I attended all my classes in online mode. The staff of the college is highly qualified and students come from a good society and have good academic knowledge. Till now, I have given exams of 1st semester which were conducted in obe mode. The level of the exam was moderate and it was easy to pass.

The placement cell of the college provides the intership opportunity to 1st year and 2nd-year students. The companies offer intership like content writing, social media promotion and sales and marketing. Most of the intership is unpaid. The duration of the intership is around 1-2 months. The company provide task on a daily or weekly basis.

The placements are mainly for 3rd-year students and they offered jobs after clearing interviews rounds. Due to the pandemic, the whole process of selection was done online. Companies like Wipro, Byjus, and many companies offer jobs in our college. I plan to pursue law after the degree. The package offered by the company range from 3 lakh per annum to 7 - 8 lakh per annum.

The annual fee of the college is 13000 rupees which also include exam fees. The cost of the study is quite affordable. A student having any financial problem can apply for a concession to the admission department. I have done 2 internships till now which were unpaid. Most of the intership is unpaid due to online mode or give very less stipend.

Due to the Corona pandemic, I have not enjoyed a single day of campus life. All the events and fest are held online, the commerce society fest was also done online. The college library is quite big and is full of books and knowledge. We can access the library in this pandemic also by visiting the college. Many societies of the college organise their events and different contest virtually. I participated in a meme competetion and try something new with the magic challenge.
