Remarks

The college I have enrolled in is Cooch Behar Government Engineering College. I completed the counseling process and according to my rank in JEE I got to this college. I am a general category student so I didn't have any quota. When I took admission in this college the admission criteria was JEE rank under 15000 and there was no age limit. The admission process was offline based, students have to come to the college with all necessary documents and then they can apply for admission.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I have chosen this particular course because I love to work with machines. We have almost one to two teachers for each subject. All facilities are highly qualified and well experienced.. and their teaching is also very good. We have to write three exams for each semester, 1st internal, 2nd internal, and semester exam. I don't think passing an exam is that difficult but obviously, if you don't read how would you pass..

Fees and Financial Aid

This is a government college so the overall fees are not too high, it's affordable. I didn't got any scholarships on campus.. I mean I do have a scholarship but not from the college. Currently, I am a third-year student so I can't say anything about job or placement.

Campus Life

3.5

Every year we organize a tech-fest where students can participate in various events like debate, robot war, tech quize etc. And many cultural programs are also there like singing, dancing, etc. We have a library where we can have all kinds of books related to our course. Our classes are so much interactive. Every year there are two different spots events Cricket and Football. And in these spots we play against different colleges. We have different social groups run by students like photography group, Ramdhanu, Ajanteik etc.

Other Applied Colleges

Cooch Behar Government Engineering College | Mechanical Engineering

I wanted to complete my BTech from a government college

Placement Experience:

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
