Course Curriculum Overview
Good Curriculum but average faculty at times can ruin the experience. If one is ready to put in the effort to learn , they eventually will be able to get the best out of the available resources. The schedule is hectic at times but nothing to be worried of. Most of the times you will sail through the tide easily.
Placement Experience
IT Consulting primarily. All folks do get placed more often than. Packages vary from 8-13 Lakhs for 80% of the batch. The official figures are not very far from reality but they are not the best indicators either.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Going by the current figures: 16-17 Lakhs for two years is expensive . Be ready to be in debt for a longer duration after passing out if your dad is NOT willing to bear the burden. The good part is that the college provides with all the material and decent infrastructure so there will NOT be any hidden costs as such.
Alumni/Alumna
Vague question as it all depends. Many organisations like CBC , HP and few others have a strong alum base . So once you are there, you can expect some sort of help and preference if you are lucky enough. Alumni committee at XIM is a bunch of hard working guys , so they will ensure that you remain connected to the college even after you have left.
Exam Structure
Mixed bag .In first year Term 2 and 3 are comparatively overloaded. In the second year your Electives determine your load and majors . So chose wisely. Post placements everything is a formality. Exams are a bit random and sway with the mood of the faculty in question. A score of 4.5 /8 overall is mandatory to sit for placements. So make sure that it's secured.
Faculty
Some of the faculties are world class, others are average and few should just quit as a sign of respect to the profession. In short it is same as any other B School in the country which ranks in the XIMB bracket. The outside faculties called from IIM C and XLRI are exceptional at times but they expect the students to be exceptional as well. So you will have to raise your standards.
