Pattern has changed recently. So you have to clear an IMU exam followed by college exam TMISAT , a medical examination and a personal interview. You are likely to be selected if you score more than 70% in your board exams and 50% in TMISAT.

Course has been amazingly divided in 4 years starting from basics in first year and gradually taking you to detains in third year . In fourth year a semester is dedicated for internship on board a ship and another semester which includes mostly the management studies .Practical skills are provided at top level by experienced teachers .

Yes, internship is provided in 4th year where half of the batch goes in first semester and the other half goes in second sem. The stipend ranges from around 400 USD to 1200 USD depending upon company to company.

Placement is 100 % provided you clear all your subjects within the speculated period . All major companies heard in the industry comes to the college and placement process starts from second year only . Companies like Maersk, NYK, TORM, Scorpio, Chevron, Stenna, BW, TK, MOL, KLine etc comes for placement.

There are two major events in the first sem its freshers night and in second sem its the cultural fest called the horizon . In addition to this theres technical fest called the transtech where all the colleges from india come to participate and provide their knowledge inf field of technology.

It would cost you around 15lakhs for 4yrs without any extra charges being made. This amount includes all the charges including uniform , accomodation , food, academics , books etc . The only thing that would cost will be your own personal needs and going for outings.

Huge amount of scholarship is provided by college to the students depending upon their performance in academics and sports .

Campus life is amazing . You wont even know how would time pass by and you will be living with nothing but memories and success. Sports is one thing promoted in college with different sports being played among four houses in the hostel . Morning exercise is also must to attend.

The network becomes stronger once you pass out of the college . The teachers or seniors are just a phone call away to guide you or tackle your problems. Their are frequent meets also being held periodically.

There are total of three exams per semester called mid 1 , mid 2 and comprehensive . Labs are frequent . There is each day per week dedicated to a subject like electrical , workshop skills , welding , seamanship , hydraulics etc. It becomes easy to attempt the exam if classes have been heard properly and notes been taken.

The forms for IMU exam comes in starting of the year and after filling it up you get the date for the exam at various centres all over the country . Simultaneously you have to apply for TMISAT also the exams of which are held around the country from april . Clearing it will make you eligible for the admission in TMI.
