Working hard for 2 years of JEE preparation, I gave jee advanced and got selected in an IITs.The admission procedure was entirely done by Joint Seat Allowation Authority known as JoSAA. The counselling process mainly consists of 7 rounds in which the student gets the seat on the basics priority of filling the choices. The process is going smoothly and finally, I get IIT ISM DHANBAD for the course B.TECH in MINING ENGINEERING, the course for which IIT ISM is known.

Ya, I choose this branch as this college is its prestige since it is IITISM which is famous for its mining background and great faculty and revered professors in the entire world in the mining field. My branch has almost 117 students and 8 to 10 professors are teaching them. All the faculty members are well qualified and have PhD in their respective departments. The faculty have ongoing research projects and many of them are included in international societies. The exams are not really tough if you attend all the lectures and revises the notes of classes and proff. regularly.

Many companies are coming for internship opportunities for third and fourth year students and some companies for a second year too. To successfully get selected for an internship, students must have good projects as well as a good resume. The student should start working to build a good resume right from the first year itself. There are a lot of internship opportunities from the campus itself or the off campus.

The placements statistics are really well in mining as per the record 90%+ students get placed. Students can get PPO(pre-placement offer) in the 3rd year and finally get placed in the 4th year. The companies that gave placements offer to include Google, Microsoft, Vedanta, ESSL, Coal India and many more are there. There is also a career development cell in the college that takes care of the students and making them successful, enough to get placed.

The fee structure is mainly the same for all IITs which is approx. 9-10 lakhs. As in IIT ISM, there are many scholarships available for weak students like Merit cum Means and tuition fee waivers. The SC/ST students have 100% wavier on their tuition fees and for GENERAL /OBC have the fee wavier depending on their family income. The tuition fee for one semester is about 1 lakh and including other charges, the total fee for one sem is approx. 1.25 lakh. Banks will also provide education loans.

Our college has many fests like SRIJAN -social cultural fest, CONCETOO - annual technical fest, BASANT - Alumni reunion festival, PARIKRAMA - annual sports fest, EXCELSIOR - literary fest are there which are really amazing and enjoyable. We have also the second largest and modern library in Asia. It comprises more than 1,00,000 books, journals and e-books. One can also find all types of sports facilities in students gymkhana from GYMs, football, cricket ground Olympic - sized swimming pools, indoor and outdoors badminton courts tennis with properly maintained and up to equipment. There is also all types of clubs like CHAYANIKA SANGH, ARTFREAKS, LCI (videography), RoboISM (robotics), MANTHAN (music), LITC, Ecell, WTC, LITM and many more clubs are there.

The hostels are iconic and named after precious gemstones like Amber, Diamond, Jasper, Topaz, Sapphire, Ruby, Rosaline and many others. The hostel room comprises a fan table, chair and 2 beds. The menu for food is quite good too and students offered both veg and non veg. Also, there are periodic special dinners in which meals are prepared which are very delicious.
