Radhika Jhawar's Review On Malaviya National Institute Of Technology - [MNIT], Jaipur

AIEEE : 209 marks I always wanted to pursue my career in computer science and the goal was to become a software developer. I had many option since my rank was under 10000. NIT Jaipur was known for it's placement and be in near to my native place i opted for this college.

The college provides internship internally but there is no stipend that they offer. The companies that come for internship are Naukri.com(15k) , D.E.Shaw(30k) , Microsoft(50k).

The placement opportunity is really good in MNIT. Almost all the high rated companies visit the campus and give a huge package with a lot of facilities. The placement rate was 100% in my branch.

The fee structure in my time was flexible. Fir girl students there was no tuition fee and within 50k we can easily meet out the expenses per month. For boys student they charded 40k as tuition fee. For SC/ST and OBC they had different fee structure. For SC/ST boys there was no tuition fee.

Scholarship /loan was offered to students whose parent's income was less than 2.5 LPA. Scholarship was also give to SC/ST and OBC students depending upon their ranking and CGPA. O.P Jindal Engineering and Management Scholarship was given on the basis of a test and some interview rounds.

The exams were frequent . For a semester of 6 months, we had 3 round of exams : Mid Sem1 , Mid Sem2 and the finals. The labs were also frequent but they reduce once we passout from one year to another. The number of labs in first sem would be usually 4 or 5. And while coming in the last semester they drop to 2.

There is a counselling that used to happen during my time. I have listed some college and branch preferences. For the first round of counselling i got NIT Jaipur but metallurgical branch,in the second round i got chemical engineering. It was when i joined the college that the third round happened where my branch was upgraded to Information Technology. The administration is helpful and will reply to your queries.

The professors were really good. They had great knowledge of what they teach. There were some courses taken up by M.tech and PhD students. We can do research under them and there were projects given in each semester. The faculty or professors usually have done their Phd from the same college or from the IITs.
