I also applied for CET, BBSR, and Vurla, Sambalpur but unfortunately due to low rank got IGIT, Srang. I am under the unreserved category so no quota. There is no age or minimum mark criteria. There is a big auditorium hall in which the initial admission process is carried out like document verification etc., SBI bank is connected to the college where you can deposit the admission fees, last document verification is done in a big seminar hall. The Deputy registrar and Dean are very humble people, they demonstrate very well about the admission process and tells us about the college and ragging details, etc. My counseling was just 20 minutes and all documentation was carried out in a phased manner.
Course Curriculum Overview
My aim was to be a mechanical engineer and selected mechanical in b.tech.most of the faculty are well qualified and maximum got their masters and Pg from IIT, KHARAGPUR. Some faculty members also are guest lecturers. But I love their way of teaching and understand things very well, EXAMS are conducted timely.
Fees and Financial Aid
The admission fee was 33400 rupees per year and in 1st-year one-time non-refundable University registration fee of 5000 rupees was paid by me. The hostel fee was 15000 per 6 months but in SURYA BHAWAN Hostel it is 12000 per 6 months. There are some examination fees to be paid during the semester exams. There are various scholarships are available but medhabruti and prerana Scholarship was applied by most of the students. I have also applied for medhabruti in the 2nd year and got 10000 rupees and in the 3rd year, I had applied for prerana Scholarship and got 7500 rupees.
Campus Life
Events are very frequent in our college, not for all but all branches occasionally doing their events. Initially, when I admit into college one combined welcome fest was carried out and all branches also welcome us by doing events.' HORIZON' most important event in our college in which everyone can participate and show their respective talents. Every year one annual sports event is carried out and trophies are given to winners. Farewell event occurs every year for final year students by juniors. one central library and one book bank is in our college where you can study various books and can take them home by showing library card for some specific period, books are available but not latest and newspaper are coming every day.
Hostel Facilities
Brahmos Bhawan is the new hostel for b.tech students, I stayed there, it is clean and food is good, water facility is good and also toilet are washed every day, so as it is now everything is good but the best hostel is Surya Bhawan which is only for final year students and having good CGPA will get a seat in this hostel, in this hostel single room is given for every student and food is best among all hostel in igit, Sarang. The lighting and fan facility is good in all rooms but sometimes a problem occurs and it is sorted out very fast. The registration process for a hostel is simple and it is affordable.
