IIT Delhi in a few words

Firstly, IIT Delhi is a platform fromWhere you can achieve anything be it High salary, entrepreneurship, research and higher education, civil services, and what not to mention. We have Indias best labs in educational institutions and we are not limited to the discipline we choose, a physics student can do research in biology or a mechanical student can sit in coding interviews. Apart from that, we have very active clubs who are constantly putting efforts to develop the interest of students in their respective fields. We have the best professors who are internationally known. Our professors come from universities like Carnegie Melon, Caltech university etc.Secondly, it was my hometown that's why I did not choose IITs which could provide me with computer science degree. Living far from family is difficult.

Student to faculty ratio is 3:1 which is poor but to maintain quality standards, IITs need to set the selection process as hard as possible and only a few qualify and I don't feel any lack of faculty being there because most of them are excellent. Faculties are mostly PhD's from universities like CMU, EPFL, Stanford etc. They are the best professors you can get in the country. Apart from being highly qualified, they are also emotionally helpful. Examinations are always held in time andIf you study properly you will score 70-80% easily and scoring 90% assures you an A in almost all the courses because sometimes A goes on 85% sometimes 75% but be at 90% to be assured. Passing is always easy in any course.

I opted for a summer project and not an internship. Otherwise interns in second year get around 40k and in the third year around 80k. It's really tiring working fir internships but very good amount of learning. If you are into coding, you can go for Software Development, finance, data analyst, data engineer, data science, or otherwise go for core or consultancy.

Placements start from 5th semester. Top companies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, flipkart, tower, NKSECURITIES, Goldman Sachs, Samsung etc come and highest package goes around 1 crore CTC. Almost all students who sit for placement get a job. The rest go to higher studies and startups.

Semester fee is around 1,12,000 for general and around 84,000 for EWS and 60-50k for other categories. Which is pretty affordable compared to other colleges like BITS etc. Hostel fee is 25,000 per semester regardless of category. People can easily get financial assistance from scholarships based on category and academic performance, since I did not belong to any category, I did not receive any scholarship but it is easy if you are in a category to recieve around a fourth of your fees.The placements can go around 50 lakhs ctc highest being around 120 lakhs ctc.

Campus life is the best possible stage of ones life. especially at IIT, but due to pandemic all that is ruined. I experienced the RDV, annual fest of IITD, there were many superstars invited for concerts in the evening. Many Mahon shows, talent shows, fashion shows, standup comedy etc were also organised. An amazing experience.Clubs organische various activities like robotics club organised robot making workshops, Physics club organised stargazing sessions etc. Overall it was great.

Hostel us really clean, 3 beds per room and cost around 200 rupees per day with mess included. Mess food is nutritious and tasty. Nothing to worry about. You have 4 washing machines in each wing and total of 4 wings. But washing machines are at the ground floor only. You have a library with AC, a gym, a parlour, a gaming Center, a badminton court, a music room, a common room and a visitors room all cleaned properly. Registration is through online portal through which you pay fees. If you are a day scholar, you can bring your car to campus otherwise no motor vehicles.
