IIT Bombay is the go to place for computer science students in our country, and was always my first preference. The research work that I want to get involved in made me prefer this college. Also the professors here are all extremely knowledgeable, and the competitive environment makes you a better version of yourself.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is rigorous and the subjects can go deep if you want it to. Depending on the level of the class's knowledge, the professors might go a level beyond or try to match and push you a bit. The faculty : Student = 1 : 33.
Placement Experience
For Mtech program, the Teaching assistants(TAs) become eligible for placements from 3rd semester.The research assistants(RAs) have a course duration of 3 years as compared to 2 years of the TAs, and become eligible for placements from 5th semester.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Stipend is 13,400 per month for research associates.12,400 for teaching associates. I am not sure about the fee hike policy as this is my first year. I will be able to give a better personal answer next year. However based on trends, fee hike is very less.
Campus Life
Unfortunately, due to covid, I haven't been able to visit the campus yet, it was shut for first year Mtech students, hopefully will be able to answer this better once i am in campus when the campus is restarted.
