B.Tech- M.E at IITD

IIT Delhi is among the top names among the 23 IITs of our country and being an engineering aspirant it was my first priority for the program. IIT Delhi is recognised as Institute of National Importance and the institute has Autonomous University status also. B.Tech is the most demanding program of the institute and admissions to the program are based on the JEE Main and JEE Advance scores of the applicants

The reason for choosing the Mechanical Engineering stream was my love towards machines. The program is one of the most famous branches of the BTech program. The faculty of IIT Delhi consists of PhD holders from some of the top Globally recognised institutions. The 4 year BTech program has a total of 8 semesters in the program which covers all cores of the field.

The internship opportunities at IIT Delhi can be availed by participating in the internship round. The institute records one of its kind records as companies from all different domains participate in the round. The importance of the round enhances more for mechanical branch students as they get to explore the actual work of M.E.

The total number of recruiters during the placement drive of our batch was around 300 and well known international as well as domestic firms were included among them.The top recruiting companies present for the drive were Goldman Sachs, Oracle, Microsoft, Tata, ICICI, HCL and Intel and the average salary package stood at INR 16 LPA. The highest package during the drive was nearly INR 1 CPA.

The total fee for the 4 year BTech program at IIT Delhi is INR 8.43 Lacs.This structure consists of the tuition fee of INR 8 lacs which is INR 1 lac per semester. The NRI students applying for the program at IIT Delhi will have to pay a total fee of INR 12.11 lacs. The students can get study loans from leading banks with help from the institute.

The campus of IIT Delhi is spread across 320 acres and is renowned as the hub of technical events. Alumni Meet, Case Study competitions and Industrial summits are the most famous events of the institute. The institute takes care about all-round growth of its students and The Alumni committee and Industry Interaction committee work with full dedication for the same. Campus life worked as a booster for improvement of my conversation skills and self-confidence.

The institute has 10+ hostels which are distributed as per the gender ratio among the students. The accommodation is available in sharing as well as single basis which can be availed as per the choice of students. The students get different sports facilities also in the hostel premises. The mess has a variety of food varieties during all meals of the day and students can get as much as they want as the food is served in the buffet system.

The minimum criteria for admissions to B.tech is 75% marks with PCM from any recognised board. The students must also possess valid scores in JEE main and JEE Advance exam. After which the seats are allocated as per the national level JOSAA counselling procedure. The seat allocation is based on the scores of applicants in the exams.
