Remarks

I got admission into Hansraj, Hindu, Shri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, and much more but I finally chose Shri Ram College of Commerce because of its Commerce Exclusivity. The other colleges are great as well but the reason for not attending it was that they offer other courses as well and I personally wanted greater competition in Commerce and here in SRCC, you get that. You get to compete with India's best Commerce background students (750+ in B.Comhons.) I got admission under the Jammu & Kashmir Migrant/Kashmiri Migrant category. For this, you'll need to be a Ward of Kashmiri Migrant with a proper Migration certificate from J&K Govt. As a general category student, you'll need to score not less than 98.5% to get any course at SRCC. The admission process was pretty simple and online for my year. You'll need to register yourself on the University of Delhi's official portal and when the cut-off releases, you have to apply to the respective college and pay the fees for 1st semester.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose B.Com.(Hons.) as I always had interest in Commerce and really wanted to pursue it further. Here at SRCC, the faculty to student ratio is really great, we have one of the India's best faculty, which is justified as SRCC is claimed to be Asia's Best Commerce College. We have a class size of 40-50 students. At SRCC, we have Tutorial classes too, Students are divided into Tute groups of 7-10 with 1 Professor each. This helps us to clear all our doubts at College only. The Faculty is well qualified, with great communication skills and teaching method. Even in the Online scenario, they're doing their best and trying to teach us with every possible method. Online classes on MSTeams, we even get weekly Class Assignments. I really like the Skill Enhancement Course under our curriculum, which basically helps us to enhance our desired skills. We have Internal Assessments and Final Semester Exams. One needs to work hard to score well in the exams. The average GPA is around 9 for B.Com.Hons.

Internships Opportunities

4

There is an ample number of Internship Opportunities at SRCC. I receive a mail from The Placement Cell, almost every week for Internship Opportunity. From startups to great companies like Jindal steel works, Hindustan Unilever etc. we get them all with really great stipend, which sometimes are even more than Rs50,000 p.m. However, I am more into my competitive exams, so I don't really sit for Internships, but there are many opportunities.

Placement Experience

5

You get great Placement opportunities at SRCC. With the Highest package of Rs25 lpa in the first phase of Placements 2021 and an average package of Rs 9.8 lpa, students from SRCC bagged 130 offers from 24 Recruiters. Our top recruiters include McKinsey & Company, Deutsche Bank, Citibank,Bain Capability Network and many more. Students in the final year are eligible for Placements, However, you can apply for Internships through The Placement Cell. My plan after getting the degree is to clear CAT with a great score and pursue Masters in Business Administration in Marketing Specialization.

Fees and Financial Aid

The Fee for General Category students is approx. Rs15,000 per semester, i.e. Rs30,000 for the year, which according to me is justified as we get an Air-Conditioned Campus but as I have heard is a bit higher than other colleges of the University. Comparing to colleges other than the University, the fees is really nominal and one getting admission at SRCC can pay the amount.(Fees may vary for Admission under different categories like PwD, Foreign) There are some Scholarships and Financial Assistance for economically weaker classes too. And in these Covid times, the college even offered Financial Assistance to those who got some problems. You can apply for Internships with The Placement Cell, some of them come with a stipend also.

Campus Life

5

Life at SRCC is great, we literally have many events every month. From Business Conclave to Crossroads-Our Annual Fest, you get to experience it all at SRCC. With great motivational speakers to famous artists, we have them all at our Fests. The campus is well equipped with AC. We have a really great library with informative books on almost every topic. We have a Swimming pool too at the campus. We at SRCC have many Student-led Societies and organizations, like Enactus, The Dramatics Society, The Placement Cell, etc. You name it, we have it, we have Societies for everyone, having an interest in any field.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
