Remarks
On the day of counseling, I went with the first choice to get admission to SRM Valliammai Engineering College in the branch of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. As I wished, I got a seat in the same and I was quite happy with my decision.
Course Curriculum Overview
Actually, our college was well organized in scheduling each and every event and so the term exams too. Every 5 months once, we will have the semester exams scheduled and held on time perfectly without any postponing as per the college calendar provided in the college every year. To clear the exams, we should follow the notes what they have provided during the lecture. It's more than enough to get even good grades.
Placement Experience
From the third year, the placement department starts providing placement training to the pre-final year students till the 7th semester. And from the 7th semester, companies start visiting the college for the hiring process where only eligible students are allowed to participate. Some of the top IT companies like Accenture, TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, NTT Data hire students each year from our college. Around 400 students will be placed every year. Unfortunately, only 60 to 70 percent of eligible students got hired in the 2021 batch. I'm not aware of previous batches. But in my opinion, approximately 70 to 80 percent of eligible students will be placed every year. The top package will be 6.5 LPA but only a few talented students will get this package. The average package from almost all IT companies will be 3.5 LPA as of now. As we all know that, only a few or no core companies will be visiting the college. It's almost the same in all the 2nd tier colleges. Some students will be placed in more than one company.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fortunately, I got a first graduate and community scholarship from the college so that some amount of my fees got reduced. And from a campus placement opportunity, I got a job in NTT Data Services which is IT-based with a package of 3.5 LPA.
Campus Life
There is an Instagram page for our college which is run by students to post any important news and event held in our college and we can find it easily by SIM typing the name of the college. And there is a successful group in our college known as Tamil man dream which is a group for keeping awareness and developing Tamil literature and culture.
