Fabulous and Astounding

I had applied in the before mentioned colleges( BITS Pilani, Goa , Hyderabad ) and VIT also . I even had attended classes for Hyderabad and Pilani campuses through online mode . Then i got a message from JAC that i have got addmission in DTU chemical engineering in round 5 which got upgraded to NSUT mechanical engineering in further rounds. yes , It was a tough decision but i have made it and wont look back now . I am happy that i have made the right choice by selecting NSUT as Mech engg was at priority in my list of counselling. I have applied through General Quota only , my rank was approx 57k and my branch cutoff was 73k in Main Campus . Many of my classmates are 1 year older to me but that doesn't matter when you enter in college , all of us are in the same class .The admission process was tedious I would say . We had to fill forms , fill details on UMS Portal and many more things . We were also called in college for physical document verification . We also get NSUT email ID.

Mech engg was always at a priority for me . I didnt like electronics at all so i didnt bother much about ECE/CS/IT . I had interest in mechanics and thermodynamics parts . we had 5 & 6 subj in sem 1&2 . some of the faculty was very well experienced and trained but some were new . Beleive me , this online mode has ruined the teaching experience . most teaching was done through pdf reading which 90% of the class couldnt understand . but the college could not be blamed for this , COVID is to be blamed , as this was the situation in every other college too . 1 faculty was teaching both sections of ME that makes it 1 for 150 but in sem 2 , it got improved . some teachers in sem 2 have tremendous experience in their field , almost everyone , even new faculty are Phd's .we had 2LTs+3STs+some quizzes method . LT1 was midterm and was of viva type of 45 marks . STs were of 15 marks . The sem was compressed to 4 months which made it burdening. endsems were offline , and it was hard to attempt.

I dont know much about Internships but yes , according to what i heard , many internships are offered to students . Internship details can also be found on NSUT website . What i heard from teachers is that many students work on projects and then get internship opportunities .

All the details regarding placements can be found ON NSUT website . although i dont know much about placements being a fresher , but what i heard is that more than 300 companies visited with max package going to 1.25CR and min 5LPA . Most of the students here go towards higher education like MBA/MTech or else they go towards Civil Services exam /UPSC . I am planning to Go towards MTech as post graduation , i.e appear in GATE examination . Detailed reports regarding placements can be found on website , as mostly senoirs know about it .

Fees were 190000 excluding hostel charges .there was an CVSPK scheme for scholarship which you can find on NSUT website under notices section . I dont know much about scholarship as i havent applied but many of my friends did . You can watch it on YT where it is explained during orientation on NSUT's channel. there is UBI and SBI branches inside NSUT campus where details regarding scholarships and students loans are mentioned inside the banks notice board , you can take form from there and then do the necessary procedure. Details regarding various schemes can be found on NST website or you can watch the 3rd or 4th day recording of the orientation. My friend mentioned that loan and scholarships are given on the basis of income for which you need an income certificate , so please be prepared with that beforehand as he said it takes a lot of time to make it . from my view , this online teaching was not at all affordable at this amount of fees , it should be reduced .

My college's Annual fests are Moksha and Innovision . I had participated in some events in which i played some interesting games . As the campus was closes=d for a long time , we didnt got much time to explore the library . But there were many facilities like Wifi and PYQs were also there .Library was multilevel and very big , although it was not air conditioned but it was calm inside comfortable to study. The new classrooms were (Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Complex) ... I mean WOW , is this a classroom or a cinema hall . Fully air conditioned with automatic lights , modern benches , charging points , big Screen in front of us and what not . But sadly , we enjoyed this only for a month when campuses were opened in offline mode in feb-mar ,2020 . There is a Gym also witha ll equipments inside . There is a big football ground , cricket ground and tennis cours and badminton court too. There are many societies which you can check on NSUT website . Its recommended to join atleast one society .
