KGEC-Rising star

After my hs exam I sit for WBJEE.After getting 3427 rank in WBJEE I applied for WBJEE counseling.In which I applied for Jadavpur University, Kalyani Government Engineering College and GCELT.At first I took admission in GCELT .Then during the spot round I got ECE in Kgec.So I took KGEC ,since KGEC is much better than GCELT.

I choose B Tech ECE course because it is like a bridge course between Electrical and Computer Science.So I took this because it has scope for both career in IT and in core industry In kgec student to faculty ratio is very good.Almost all the facilities of pur college are phd holders.They have done their studies from reputed colleges like IIIT,IIT,IISC,NIT etc.They are very helpful and knowledgeable.Our college follws the curriculum structure of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT).We have 8 semesters throughout the curriculum.Per semester for each subject we have 4 internals and 1 final exam.

In our opportunity for internship is very bad.There is no specific intern hiring happens in our college.Our traning and placement cell and Industry institute partnership cell provides some internship opportunities time by time.

Placements in our college is improving year by year.TCS is the mass recruiter in our college.Every year many companies like TCS,Cognizant etc visits our college for recruitment.Highest salary offered is 8 lpa and lowest is 3.36 lpa.Besides that one can try for off campus placement fir better package.Every year almost 70% students in our college gets their first job through campus placement.

For ECE students the college charges 6000 rs per semester as fees.Besides there is 1200 rs exam and some other fees.I got full freeship for 1 st year.Besides that one can apply for svmcm scholarship offered by West Bengal govt,some private company scholarship etc.Our college administration helps students to get students loan .

Campus life in KGEC is just awesome.Our campus is surrounded by greenary.Every we conduct our annual techno cultural fest Expektro.It is conducted in the month of March.We have a big library loaded with every book which a student will need in their study.Our classrooms are well equipped and well furnished.Every year we organize our annual sports competition Alhambra.In college we have various clubs such as KGEC-Ecell,KGEC robotics society, etc.

We have 5 hostels (4 for boys and 1 for girls)in our college.The rooms in hostels are very bad.Meal provided in hostel is worst.Since we have 5 hostels ,so there is no scarsity of hostel rooms.Student can opt for rented room near college campus .
