Remarks
NSIT is known to be one of the best engineering colleges in the country, no doubt. I applied there because of its fame. I also got into BITS Pilani - Hyderabad, NIT, Manipal, VIT and Thapar, but didn't go there. The only quota I had for admission was the Delhi home state quota. For admission, one needs to give JEE Mains. Getting CS branches is extremely competitive, and getting one requires a percentile above 99 for sure. However, if you want to pursue a non-circuital core branch like Mechanical, Civil, BioTech etc., then DTU might be a better option. The counselling was extremely systematic. Just follow the rules and it's done
Course Curriculum Overview
Mechanical Engineering is not something NSIT is known for. But it's still a good option. The student ratio is almost 15:1. Our faculty is extremely qualified with MS and PhD from IITs, IISc and good foreign universities. Exams are okayish at NSIT. They're mostly lengthy. The biggest problem is that the exam schedule here is not good at all.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are also pretty good. Stipends are as high as 2 lacs ( for tech ). But good academic grades are extremely important for internships. The opportunities are good, but not as good as the placements.
Placement Experience
Placements are very good here For tech Highest - 1 Crore, Average - 17-18 lacs, Non tech, Highest - 20-22 Lacs, Average - 8-12 Lacs, Companies include Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Bain and Co, ZS Associates, Axxela etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is 1.9 Lacs every year (not including the hostel). Placements are something NSIT is famous for. Tech packages mostly go up to a crore, and average at 17-18 lacs. Average non-tech packages lie between 8-12 lacs. However, core opportunities are very limited here. Internship opportunities are also pretty good. They do provide financial assistance to students in need.
Campus Life
NSIT has a lot of societies. From entrepreneurship to satire, motorsports to journalism, coding to music, you've got every kind of society here. Sports opportunities are also good here. We do have a huge ground. There's also a gym, TT Room and Indoor Sports facilities.
