AIEEE, I got 240 marks with a rank around 5,000. The process is pretty descriptive and the website is really helpful. Most of the verification is done online. I chose ECE because it is one of the best branches here at PEC in terms of package.

The courses are not so good as the study material is very old. The industry of ECE is changing at a very fast rate and the study materials in colleges are not. PEC is not that much focused into the research as compared to the IITs. The teachers are qualified and have nice experience and one can learn a lot if he or she is willing to learn.

Some teachers do provide internships under them. The stipend is not fixed as it could vary from teacher to teacher and the need of the project for which the intern is hired.

The Placement office is very good and work very hard on providing internships and placements to the students. The average package of CSE is around 9 Lakhs and that of ECE is 7 lakhs. Many big companies like Texas and Instruments, Microsoft, Amazon, DE shaw, Maruti, TATA, Reliance, Wipro, TCS, Accenture, Amadeus Labs, Future's First, GE visit the campus with very high packages going upto 27 Lakhs per year.

PECFEST is one of the biggest fest organised in the north India. It is both cultural and technical with very standards. The participation is around 20k people from all over India. All the events see very heavy participation and the budget for the fest goes upto Rs 1.5cr. The fest is organised by students only and money is also raised by them from the market except for a certain sum provided by the college.

I have not availed any loans or got any scholarship but the college does provide scholarships to the toppers of the branch and based on the SC, ST quota. Toppers get their academic fees waived off. The rank openers for every branch get their fees waived off for the first year.

The gender ratio is pretty good along with the atmosphere. The social circle in PEC is really nice considering it is in Chandigarh. PEC has a plus point when it comes to sports, extracurricular, robotics or debates. PEC has one of the best chess team, robotics team, debate team, drams team, music team. All these activities are very popular in PEC.

PEC has alumni all over the world having very posts in various big organisations. PEC receives regular funding from them and they are ever ready to help in anyway they can. Many of the companies come to PEC because the of the help form the Alumni. The senior junior relationship is very good.

Exams are very hectic as there are 2 exams in a single day during the mid-sems. But also they teach us a lot in terms of working under pressure. The labs are chilled out as their was not much to do in the labs. The experiments were never that long but the lab lasted for 3 hours giving us ample time to finish the work.

The old faculty is very qualified and experienced. Although the new teachers are not that good. The quality of teachers has depreciated over the period of time. As these are govt. jobs some of the teachers are not focused on what to teach but rather on how to reduce their workload.
