Entrance Preview

I entered NMIT by COMEDK exam in 2013, i scored 60 marks in that exam and got 17000 rank. I choose NMIT because this college is well known foe mechanical and the best college i was getting for mechanical.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I got to know about the course from my seniors and family members. Mechanical engineering basically includes knowledge of all the branches. It includes civil, electrical, electronics, coding, automobiles and many more. At NMIT the course is well structured and easy to understand. And also many of the research process are going on in our college.

Internships Opportunities

Yes but the options given by the college are very few. Basically they send every one to the coca cola factory which is very near to the college. But students do not trust college in this case and manages to get there internship from external sources. Because many of the good industries present in Bangalore, i do not think one should face problems for getting a internship.

Placement Experience

2

Currently this year by now 200 students have been placed from the college. Microsoft came first and took 9 students with the package of 9.5 lpm, Subbex took one with 15 lpm. Then comes the kpit, infosys, wipro, l&t infotech, capegimini, mindtree and some more IT based companies who took almost 180-190 students with average package of 3.5- 4 lpm.

College Events

2

Well the annual cultural fest of our college is ANDYANTHA and it is very well famous in Bangalore. It is a 3 day fest and involves a lots of cultural and technical events. Apart from this different branches celebrate their different fests. My branch mechanical celebrates YANTRA every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure in NMIT is quite expensive. For CET students it is 65000 rs per year and COMEDK students it is 1,65000rs per year. As it is seen that how much justified is the fee structure for the students belong to other state it creates in negativity among the students and parents too.

Fees and Financial Aid

No loans are provided by college but a scholarship of 10000 rs to a student who occupy 1st rank in all the semesters.

Campus Life

3.5

Girls in NMIT are very few and very pretty too. The ratio of girls are less because it is an engineering college. No politics allowed in NMIT, no such groups like ISU and NSUI exist in our college. Students always be on there on and do not care for others.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

Hostel facility in NMIT is good. The rooms and other allowance but the food is worst. College provides outside hostels who do not get rooms in college hostel. But again the fee is very high specially for outside hostels. But the environment in hostels is pleasant and very enjoyable.

Alumni/Alumna

No. i do not think many of the students know the alumni from or college as it was started in 2000.

Exam Structure

Exams are labs are very much punctual and always occur on time. Since NMIT is an autonomous college, here 50% of the marks are from internals and 50% of the marks from externals. Also they allot marks for seminar and project topics every semester.

Admission

I took part in the counselling for COMEDK. After that i visited NMIT and filled the admission form and fee. Along with that i submitted certificates like 12th result, migration, 10th result, transfer certificate etc. Then i paid half the fee and got a room in hostel.
