Remarks

The college is definitely one of the best institutions I have seen.

Entrance Preview

I had to appear for the CET exam. The course was one of the best options for getting into the software industry. It really paid off and was worth it.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is good enough for both research minded as well as industry minded people. Also, this college follows the Mumbai university course work so it is a tried and tested method of training young engineers. The recent changes in the coursework promote a healthy appetite for programming as well skills that are readily useful in the industry.

Internships Opportunities

During my time period at the college, internships were not the norm unfortunately. Although, I have learned recently that they are encouraging students to pursue internships.

Placement Experience

5

The placement department of the college is one of the most hard working in my opinion. The college makes sure that students get a plethora of opportunities to select from. Also, in my opinion whether the student gets placed or not is entirely up to him/her. But rest assured the college does everything in its power to get the students placed.

College Events

5

The college celebrates a lot of events. These events provided students with a lot leadership/management opportunities. The events ranged from creative, geeky, entertainment to athletic types of events. A lot of people from all around the city of Mumbai attended these events. Also, event specific teams from other colleges were also invited.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is pretty expensive according to me. When I was in college during 2006-2010 we paid Rs. 75,000/- per year. While other colleges of the same standards and within Mumbai were around Rs. 10,000 to 20,000/- cheaper. So, in general it was an expensive college to attend. But definitely worth it in the end.

Fees and Financial Aid

I don't know of any general scholarship programs. No programs that are applicable to a vast majority of students or which can be applied for explicitly.

Campus Life

5

The campus is located in Vile Parle. So, there are a lot of other colleges around. The locality is good for students with plenty of eateries and cafes also, there is the Juhu beach close by. The gender ratio is pretty much skewed towards the male population. But this was a common trend so far in engineering environments world wide. The college has a lot of sports activities, cricket and football teams were particularly good at the time. Robotics events were common place during my time at the college. The college is known for its calm and tolerant environment. So, studying here is not a problem for people of any caste, creed, color or ethnicity.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

I have not used the hostel facilities. The mess food was good. It is worth mentioning that the mess staff was particularly good. As far as living arrangements are concerned Mumbai city is always a difficult place to find accommodation. And whatever you find will be expensive as compared to other cities. Living in the Northern part of Mumbai might save you some money though.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni networks is one of the best. This college has a particularly good and far reaching alumnus. This is one of the best aspects of the college. The students here get to surround themselves with people with great potential. The seniors are helpful.

Exam Structure

The frequency was quite balanced or reasonable overall. It all depends on the number of courses/subjects you have in a semester. So, all the college has to do is to schedule things in a good way. This was done pretty well by the faculty members. Also, student feedback was considered a lot.

Admission

The college distributed its own admission forms and did not participate in the centralized admission process that year. The forms were available at the college premises. The admissions were held in rounds where seats given on merit basis i.e. based on the CET scores.

Faculty

4

The faculty is good and are vested in learning and teaching both. The qualifications are undoubtedly good. Faculty members apart from teaching are always working on their projects, research work, further education or doctorates. This creates a good environment for young and aspiring engineering students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
