Good College and a little Expensive - [BBIT], Kolkata

The colleges I applied for are Heritage, Techno India, IEM, BBIT, and others. I chose BBIT because it comes near my home in the 25 KM range and is also a little bit less expensive than other colleges. After giving WBJEE, I made a visit to college BBIT and took Admission directly by giving WBJEE RANK and Number. There's a management quota available but don't go for it then they ask for unnecessary money. Marks required for admission are min 45% for HS or 50% for lateral entry. And I didn't remember do they have any age criteria. There's no counseling day or nothing just visit the college and give money and you are in. Most importantly bargain with the administrator for fees reduction. Some people paid 2.7 lakhs for a course and Some paid 1.63 lakhs for the same course.

I chose this course because I am passionate about technology and curious about how they work, that's why I chose Computer Science. Faculty Student Ratio is normal like all others colleges. But in some cases, the same faculty took more than one class. Faculties are well educated and enchanted they have masters and Some doing Ph.D. while teaching us and excellent teaching skills and friendly too. In a semester there were have 3 exams written 2 are internal and one external or semester exam along with practical viva projects etcetera. Even if you attend college regularly don't worry about passing just push for the semester exam.

Internships are really important in college life, while you are studying making money as well as gaining practical knowledge and understanding the market and the processes of how the thing works. In BBIT there are also have some companies that offer free as well as paid internships. Some local companies like eclicks, web solutions, and others offer internships in your college years that offer an average of 5000 rupees per month as an intensive for the internships. Most internships are about marketing or you can say finding customers for the company. In some cases calling customers and in other cases visiting places to generate sales.

From the fifth semester, you are eligible to participate in campus placements. Several companies like TCS, Wipro, Godrej, Tech Mahindra, Byju's came for campus placements and packages go as high as 10 lakhs per annum. But on average the packages are low around 2.5 lakhs per annum because most of the students didn't avail to crack all the interviews. If I calculate in percentage around 10% students cracks job from campus placements. And most from off-campus or goes for higher studies.

The fees structure is simple 45000 rupees per semester for 4 years course but remember that you have to give the semester fees in time otherwise late fine is applicable from 500 to 2000 varies how late you are giving it. If you are able to bargain with the administrator to reduce the semester fees as low as 25000 then you just have to pay registration and exam fees with the minimum semester fees. Although for 45000 there are no additional exam fees or registration fees. And also hostel available if you want to stay there ask the administrator. It's a bit expensive so look outside the college for staying. Bus service is also available if you need it you talk to the transportation manager. Scholarship plays a major role in the study for expense compensation. All the government scholarships are available at the college. A college faculty one of my favorites Masum Sk who handle all the scholarships of students even he didn't get paid for this. If you have any queries you can ask Masum Sir.

Social life is awesome at BBIT if you are an extrovert. The College organizes multiple events every year, like freshers, competitions parties, concerts, and many more. In the previous two years before covid lockdown once Badsha and once Honey Singh came for the concerts. Along with the enjoyment the main thing study is enforced here. You will get all your books from the library for the entire semester to study, and also extra books are available other than the syllabus for study and also newspapers to read over there. Just stay quiet in the library. Classrooms are pretty good and large enough to hold all the students in a class. In most cases, benches are empty for obvious not 100% attendance. If you are living in the hostel then you can be a part of different activities but your study might hamper due to no extra time for curriculum activities. Playing grounds are there, like football, basketball, and cricket. Also, the seminar hall was empty for dance and other activities. Just you need permission for these.
