Remarks
I'd applied for HR college, Mumbai for which I couldn't clear the general cut off but I cleared the cut off for Jai hind College for which I applied through the general category. The admission cut off was based on the 12th percentage. The admission process was quite hectic. The first stage was to apply on the Mumbai University portal post which 3 lists of students that cleared the cut-off (for a particular course, in my case- BMS) were released by the college. I was then asked to come to the college in the next 2-3 days. (I live in Delhi, so it was quite inconvenient on such short notice but nevertheless, I went). We then had to wait in line for the initial process and complete the required paperwork. We were then moved to the classrooms where the process was relatively quick. A short interview was conducted by the HoD of the BMS department. There was no counseling as such. However, there was an orientation after admission and the seniors were very welcoming.
Course Curriculum Overview
The permanent as well as visiting faculty are experienced and are from various industries relevant to the course. The learning process was interactive. We studied with the help of visual PPTs, Case studies and various projects.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placements once they enter the final year of college. BMS usually has good placements for final-year students. Companies such as Zomato, Ernst & Young, Deutsche Bank, Schbang, etc had come for placements in 2021.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are in the lower range- 20000 for the first year and nearly 18000 in the last year. Financial assistance is provided but a student may have to contact the concerned authority to avail the same.
Campus Life
There are several clubs from many departments. BMS has 2 flagship inter-collegiate events called- The Entrepreneurship Summit and TALAASH (which is a cultural fest). Amenities provided in college- Library, canteen, a stationery shop in the basement where you can avail notes, get them scanned or get any other documents printed.
Interview Experience
No, there was no group discussion but there was a personal interview with the Head of Department of the BMS department. General questions about my interest in the course were asked. The only criteria required for admission was the 12th percentage.
