Remarks

I applied for IISER, and many other graduation courses also for NIT, shibpur, but my ambition was always to become an engineer and from a reputed institution like JU. This college is a gem of a college, getting a chance to study here is very precious for me. I didn't avail any quota for admission. Minimum marks for getting admission would be around 115-120. The admission process was quite fluent, no hesitations happened during that time.

Course Curriculum Overview

My dream was to become a computer science engineer that's why I chose this course. Student-faculty communication is quite good, they approach us through mails and the teaching process is excellent as one of the best in the country. Exams are 6 months apart. They teach us really well and so passing the exam is not a concern for us.

Internships Opportunities

Placement cells of JU offer us internships right after completing the 4th semester and also assign some genuine projects associated with the professors. Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Wipro, TCS visit here for internships and they offer healthy packages to their employees.

Placement Experience

Students can avail of placement right after completing the 6th semester. My course gives 100% placement to its students. Giant companies like Microsoft, google amazon hire students from here. The average package is around 25 LPA. My plan is though going for higher studies after completing BTech.

Fees and Financial Aid

This institution is the cheapest place to study engineering. Only 2500 per year. There is also a huge number of scholarships for the needy ones. Jobs are available for you in the final year and just before that many internships are available on the campus. They contact you and hire you according to your skills.

Campus Life

Social life is why the students get attracted to JU the most. You can't find a better student life than this anywhere. There are fests every 6 months apart. There is a huge no of social groups around for every possible aspect all those with activity. Sports are regular there, the campus ground is excellent with ample facilities.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More
