Remarks

I got to this college after WBJEE counselling in Kolkata. I wished I could get into IEM but because my rank was 15335 and I had opted for CSE, I was allotted to this college. The admission process here was very smooth. Prasanjeet Majhi Sir helped me a lot, with the paperwork and everything. Luckily, I could even find a Room for rent, right the next time I visited College.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

Faculty Student Ratio was always good. Some faculty members were really good and some weren't. Anyways, for exams, we referred to the Organiser and basic study was good enough for me. My current GPA is 8.6 up to the 7th Semester.

Placement Experience

0.5

There was one company offering unpaid internships in the 5th semester. In the final year, there were companies like Cognizant, DXC, Hexaware, etc. The Placement Cell just wastes their time. They take literally zero effort. Even many startups like Prepbytes and Pepcoding can get you ten times better placements. In the Lockdown period, when we weren't on the campus, attending only a few online classes, studying DSA and making projects on our own, the College was taking fees from us, and couldn't even utilize ten percent of that amount in trying to reach startups to offer at least 6 LPA packages to the students. No. They don't try. I can promise you. When a startup can get you a placement, and a full fledged placement cell, whose job is only to get companies, cannot, then you must know that the Placement Cell does absolutely nothing for the good students.

Fees and Financial Aid

There was a slight fee hike every semester. I wasn't living in the hostel, so I wouldn't really know about the fees issues on that front. The cost of study overall isn't much. I have friends from other colleges who have to spend above 10 lacs and still are in the same level of the company as me, where I only spent 3.6 lacs in the fees. The cost of living in West Bengal was also very cheap, and that is the sole reason why I could survive.

Campus Life

2

There are many clubs. I was engaged with a few at the start. They kind of helped me to grow as a person. Just slightly. It's mostly caused of my friends and few seniors, very few. Most of the seniors weren't really good enough to give any fruitful advice.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
