DPG INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY AND MANAGEMENT

I applied at SGT University and was offered a scholarship although I chose DPGITM instead as it has metro connectivity unlike SGT which is completely segregated from the city. The admission criteria for DPGITM is not very harsh, they offer scholarships upto 20k and i recieved 10k scholarship as I scored 76% in my 12th. The counseling session was quite good the counsellors were knowledgeable and also arranged a meeting with the HOD of CS department.

Since I've been interested in computer science for as long as i can remember it was really easy for me to choose btech cse and DPGITM provides speciality in AI and ML that attracted me to join the course. Most of the faculties are experienced in their respective subjects. 1:20 might be the faculty: student ratio. The faculties are there for any doubt 7 days a week. The exam difficulty level was not too hard since the exams are conducted by MDU it is quite easy to pass by only studying the previous year's question papers.

Since I am still in my 2nd semester I don't have much information about the internship opportunities as of yet although the counselors told me that there are internship opportunities provided to the students. I would prefer for students to go for off-campus placements.

Campus placements are there in the college although not too many students get placed and most of the companies that come for the placement drives are startups. As far as i know, students become eligible to sit for placements in the 6th semester. As it stands now I am planning for off-campus placements if the placements in dpgitm doesn't improve.

Anyone can easily avail of the scholarship in the first year of their college if the student has scored more than 70% in his/her board exams. Also, if the student performs extremely well in academic scholarships are offered to them. You can even pay your fee in installments. Campus jobs aren't there yet but you can apply for various programs like Microsoft ambassador, gfg ambassador, etc.

Since It's only been a year since I've joined the college and it was in online mode I am not aware of the college fest name but there are 2 fest that happens every year in the month of feb and October (as far as i know). Also there's a all night hackathon that happens in the college premises. There are a lot of books in the livrary related to the courses, although there are not much books other than the course books. All the books are in a really nice condition so you can take any book with you ID. There's is a big ground for cricket, football. Basketball court valleyball court, and badminton facilities are also available although you have to pay for most of the sports so that you can play under the experts.
