Entrance Preview

The admission into B.com is only based on the merit based on marks obtained in class 12th. There is no such entrance test or interviews to get admission into B.com

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculum for my batch was a bit different and confusing for both teachers and students. Initially, it was supposed to be FYUP (Four Year Undergraduate Program), that demanded students to learn a wide variety of subjects apart from regular commerce subjects.

Internships Opportunities

College doesn't provide a compulsory internship, but the placement cell of the college certainly brings many opportunities for students, be it for jobs or internships.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements and Jobs are provided to almost all the students. The companies that usually visit the campus include EY, KPMG, Indigo Airlines, Urban Clap, Axis Bank, Wipro, Oberoi Hotels, Zomato, HDFC, ICICI, S&P Capital, etc. The highest package offered was 6 LPA

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is very nominal. Even s student from very backward section of society can afford to study in an esteemed institution like this. The average fee comes out to be 7-8 k per year. Apart from offering quality education at a very low cost, it also provides scholarships to students in need and to high scoring students.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no as such requirement for loans to be taken as the fee is on the very lower side. Apart from that the college provides scholarships in the form of fee waiver to the students in need and there are certain cash rewards and scholarships for students securing highest marks.

Campus Life

4

DSC is campus is one of the biggest campus all over Delhi University. It is spread over 11 acres of land with a huge space for parking and a metro station adjacent to the college gate. Students from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds study together. Also the Gender ratio observed in the College is quite good, with more than 60% female students. Competitions are regularly held in all of he fields.

Hostel Facilities

3

College doesn't provide any Hostel facility, so the students hailing from outside Delhi prefer to stay at their relatives' place and some opt for PG. PGs in Delhi are available at very low rates ranging from 9-12 K also some students opt for their sharing flats with hired maids and servants.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni Association has been setup very recently by the Commerce Department of the college. It will definitely prove to be fruitful in the coming years as the alumni are settled in diverse fields; that will certainly help both college and other students.

Exam Structure

Exam are semester based with internal assessments of 25% weightage. And, nothing was hectic as such and it was more on the chilled out side for which DU and its students are considered. Exams were held twice a year (semester based), each semester having 4-5 subjects.

Admission

Admission Process is a bit complex and tiring as number of students wanting to get into one course is too high; so that counts for a long ques, getting documents signed and verified by atleast 3 to 4 teachers. But, it proves to be fruitful once you get admission in the course and college of your desire.

Faculty

4

Commerce faculty of Dyal Singh College is considered to be one of the best all over University of Delhi. Teachers are quite young with age and thoughts as well. The quality of education at DSC can be considered one of the best in DU. Some of my professors from qualified from top universities and colleges across the globe.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

Placement Experience:

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement is quite good the percentage of students is not same always it changes but only those students with proper knowledge, experience, skills get good placement. There is a proper placement cell for this which is very active. Prepare for government exams (SSC, UPSC, etc.) Go for higher education (PG, B.Ed., MBA, etc.) Enroll in skill-based or professional certification courses outside college

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
