I applied on JAC portal and got Punjab Engineering College in the counselling rounds. Admission process was very simple. Punjab Engineering College takes in students based on their JEE Mains rank. On counselling day, candidate is expected to visit the campus and get the documents verified and then get the admission number and hostel
Course Curriculum Overview
i choose this course based on my rank in JEE Mains 1:32 PHD In a semester, first we had mid sem exams and then end semester exams. Exams were very difficult and hardly any time was given for prepration. There were 2 mid sem exams in a day and there was no holiday in end sem exams also.
Internships Opportunities
I got internship in Fab Hotels in 2019 with 10,000/- stipend per month. I was in the role of Business analyst there and worked under various projects like property acquisition, Catalyst, Rampage which were related to Property outsourcing.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placements from 7th semester. Microsoft, Amazon, ZS, JP Morgan etc. Highest package was about 40 LPA in CSE Branch. Average package is high in Circuital Branches and low in Non-circuital branches. Almost all the students who want placement get some offer.
Fees and Financial Aid
Our Semester fees was 60,250/- and yearly hostel fees was 62,500/- excluding mess. Many scholarships were given like for branch toppers, PWD, PMSSS for J&K students, reserved categories, EWS students.
Campus Life
PEC fest is conducted in October-November every year. Many books are available in the library including subject books and novels. Only new classrooms have ACs. Classrooms in civil and mechanical are very old , CSE,ECE departments are better. There is a gymnasium, Badminton ground, cricket, athletic , squash ground. SAE, DRAMS, IEEE etc clubs and socities are there to join.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are very old and some are being renovated, however the speed is very slow. Life at hostels is very cool with minimum interference of guards and other management. Food quality at all the hostels is very poor. Registration for hostel can be done on the day of physical document verification itself and a room is alloted. Fees is around 62,500/- per year and mess charges are around 3000/- every month.
