Remarks

The only downside of the college is its current infrastructure, which is shabby and does not reflect the otherwise quality of the institution. This too shall be sorted with the new infrastructure facility being built, which boasts of an incubation center for start-ups as well.

Entrance Preview

Admission in S.S.C.B.S. for courses related to computer science is based on your score in 12th class boards examination. The college follows the quintessential cut-off system of University of Delhi, though only for the computer science courses. In 2013, the cut-off for B.Tech in Computer Science (Now B.Sc) was around 92% in the best four of your subjects, which must include Mathematics, which I was able to clear. I chose this particular college over others because of the reputation its faculty carries, and the whole bunch of opportunities this college is known for.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum matches the standards followed in most of the universities with addition allied subjects introduced in every semester. Addition of up and coming subjects like Operational Research, Artificial Intelligence, Principles of Communication enhances the scope of the course. In the final two semesters students are encouraged to research and develop a project of their own. The lack of other courses in S.S.C.B.S. makes our allied courses limited to those being taught in B.M.S. generally, like Strategic Human Resource Management.

Internships Opportunities

The internships provided to computer science department students are few and generally from new start-ups, and in the field of web development. The stipend can vary from 4,000-8,000 per month.

Placement Experience

3

Placement opportunities for Computer science department are rare and come from up and coming companies only. For technical jobs, the following companies have come so far with a total of around 15 students placed. MagicPin: CTC- 3.2 LPA, Lucideus: CTC- 4.5 LPA, Secure Now: CTC 4 LPA, Mettl: CTC 6 LPA, Value Prospect: CTC 3.3 LPA.

College Events

4.5

The primary cultural fest of the college is Crescendo, which is held around February to March every year with participants coming from all over Delhi including some performing artists. More than that, the college has around 26 societies, and each of which hosts its own event. Those events cover debates, management competitions, conferences, B-plan competitions, battle of the bands, dance competitions etc, with some of them drawing participants from all over India.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is the same as directed by the University of Delhi. For B.Tech, they charge around Rs. 8,500 per year, excluding examination fees of around 1,200. Which makes it probably the cheapest B.Tech degree in the entire India. The fees can be paid via internet banking. It varies from course to course.

Fees and Financial Aid

KVPY scholarship is offered in our college for the underprivileged. Otherwise, he college has no specific scholarship program. All the major banks offer educational loan for the college as well.

Campus Life

1.5

The college life is brilliant and provides innumerable opportunities. The gender ratio of male:female is around 3:2. The college boasts of 25+ active societies each excelling in its own field be it cultural or some departmental. Some of the popular societies of our college are: Fourth Wall: Dramatics society, Yuva: Entrepreneurship society, Enactus: Social Entrepreneurship society, Ecovision: Economics Society, Dhwani: Music society the crowd comes from a diverse background, i.e. from wide spectrum of economic base, from different states of India with some foreign exchange students as well, providing a mix blend of students. Though students from Delhi-NCR still maintain the majority. The crowd is tolerant and welcoming, with authorities always willing to solve your problems. The college is completely immune to politics. Neither does it have a students union nor does it participate in the DUSU elections.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

So far, the college does not have any hostel facility. Though, the new building being constructed in Rohini promises us a hostel facility. The new building should be up and active in no more than another 6 months. Currently, there are a good number of PGs and flats available around the residential areas near our college, all of which are in walking distance and offer reasonable services. The college canteen is humble and offers food at reasonable rates.

Alumni/Alumna

The college currently has a weak alumni network but is working exhaustively towards it. This year itself saw a counselling session organised by the college alumni and is soon about to host its alumni meet. The alumni base of the college is well established in major companies and is always willing to help when reached via linked in or alma connect. I myself have gained massive help from alumni in terms of career prospects and advises. The seniors are extremely helpful and are always willing to mingle and help around, be it for personal or career related reasons.

Exam Structure

Exams are very relaxed. An academic year is divided into two semesters. Each semester has its final examinations in May-June and November-December. The final exams are preceded by a set of final practicals, usually held 10 days before the final theoretical exams. Further, there is a set of internal tests in each semester, towards the second half of it. Each subject teacher has their own way to asses you for internal assessment. They could ask for assignments, take one test, or two, as per their whim and discussion with the class. Overall, the schedule is not overwhelming and gives plenty of time for extracurricular activities.

Admission

The admission process is divided into three simple steps: Fill the University of Delhi application form for the academic year, with your preference for course specified. Wait for the colleges to release their cut-off lists. If you don't find yourself clearing a list, you may wait for the second list to come out, which does only if a specific college is not able to fill its seats with the given bar. If you're able to clear the list, collect all the necessary documents as mentioned in the college notification, and visit the college as soon as possible to get yourself enrolled. You'd be asked to fill an application for, get your documents attested, and submit fees. As per the law, the college is bound to admit you if you are clearing the cut-off requirements, and you apply within the time frame. The latter can be hard to satisfy given the crowd emerging for application. The administration is helpful, and clears all the doubts and apprehensions you have.

Faculty

4

The faculty standards of the college are high. Most of the professors here are well read, and have expertise in their subjects, with a good proportion of them holding a PhD in their respective fields or are pursuing it already. In case there is any shortage of faculty member, they are quick to get a guest faculty to fill the space. There is a month end review of each and every faculty member teaching you.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
