Why WBUFS is the 3rd Ranked University for the Course B.Tech. in Dairy Technology

At first, I applied for Chemistry (honours) in Barrackpore Rastraguru Surendranath College but I know BTech in dairy, Technology is the far better course so I left Chemistry Honours course. I have an OBC quota but I got a chance easily by general category rank. In this course, we have clear WBJEE with 7k-15k. My personal rank was around 9k in the general category. There is no upper age limit in WBJEE minimum age limit is 17 years. The counselling process was very simple after getting an allotted seat in WBUAFS, according to the merit list you be called to University for admission purposes.

In West Bengal, there is only one dairy Technology University so our competition in this sector is less in our state, not only that there are several recruitments in private and government sector also, so I choose this course. In our total faculty, there is 120+ students and 45+ faculty teachers. Most of our faculty teachers are doctorate or M.Tech. passed. In our faculty, no class is bunked whether it is the online mode or offline mode. There is theory classes as well as practicals. After 40 successful theory classes in each department semester exams are held. Our faculty teachers are preciously cooperative so most of the students are passed in our course if they study their course properly.

For internship purposes, students are sent to various kinds of dairy industries like red cow or Amul. Dairy sales manager, Dairy technologist, dairy chemist, Dairy microbiologist, Dairy Engineers etc are the post. According to the post, students have to handle their projects example a dairy chemist has to check the quality of milk products, Dairy Technologist has to take care of mechanical things of the industries.

From 4th year ( 7-8th Semester) students become eligible for campus placements. Amul, Red cow, Mother Dairy, Nestle these kinds of various companies come here to give placements. 3 to 5 Lakhs per annum is the average placement offer and the highest package is 8 lakh per annum. In our faculty, 80 to 90% of students get direct placement. After completing B.Tech. in Dairy technology from this university I will pursue MTech whether in this university or NDRI Karnal.

Face structure is pretty affordable as it is a government college, admission fees are around 9k excluding 5K hostel fees. And each semester the fees is around 2k to 3k. The total fee structure of 4 years for a day scholar is 20k to 25k. The students may appeal for Nabanna scholarship, Swami Vivekananda scholarship and also for ICAR scholarship.

There are various types of cultural fest over the whole years and in the time of jagadhatri Puja, our university celebrates it as a precise big event. In our faculty campus, there is a precise big library and there is an interesting fact that with students don't have to buy so many books as we can borrow books from all libraries. In our faculty ee football cricket basketball volleyball, this kind of sports is arranged by students Union committee so there is sports opportunity as well as studying opportunity. There are cultural clubs including various Facebook pages operated by the Students Union.
