Remarks

Management was poor and mismanaged. Education system although was good and upto the mark.

Entrance Preview

WBJEE, AIPMT did not pass qualifying marks so opted for one of the best Biotechnology institute, so DY Patil.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course structure is basically very good. Each semester was divided into perfect courses focusing on research in all subjects. Additional internship had to be done and the last six months semester is a whole of project work, which actually helps in developing the core intellectuality of the students.

Internships Opportunities

College provides internship on basis of the quality of the student, and percentage achieved and interest or attitude of the student towards research. Since it is a Biotechnology institue so obviously highly endorsed students are preferred.

Placement Experience

2

Being in biotechnology sector in india you should be aware that you have to work hard, means real hard. Because getting in any research based farm is tough than to be a part of a marketing or sales team. Same is the situation with this college. If you have masters you are qualified for research but if you are a bachelor degree only nobody cares of the scientific research experience you have.

College Events

4

We had Informal week where each day of the week was a different culture day like dance, punk, tradisional wear and another big event was the SPECIES which got bigger with time. Species was the annual feast of our college. And other than that we had small departmental events like the Boi war which were co curricular activity days.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure at my time of admission was kind of ok. But as time changed years passed, the structure got higher and higher. At our times it was 1.25pa now it's 1.75pa it's freaking a 50k different with just a addition to the university credentials of NAAC A grade.

Fees and Financial Aid

I do not know anything of the scholarship the college provides. And as far as I know it does not have any.

Campus Life

4

College i must say was a diverse one though mostly it had students from gujrat mumbai and rajasthan, still many students from North, east or south also ended up here. The hilarious part although was the gender ratio in our college, it was 4:1 girls to boys. We even had 3cultural society dance, drama & art with time literature and sports club was added.

Hostel Facilities

3

Basically our college did not provide hostel facility. I used to stay in a rented PG in my early days of college which was pretty cheap of about 2.5k per month. It had mess facility to and it would amount to 1k p/m. Later I shifted to rented apartment with 3 friends in CBD belapur and we made our own food, rented around 8.5k p/m.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors were always helpful but the interaction was less or limited. Mostly like gujjus helping each other marathis for all and some were always available to poke into.

Exam Structure

Main Exams was scheduled twice a year and in between we had midsems. So these midsems kind of icing on a cake, if the icing is good the cake looks good. Same is the situation if the mid sems went well then the mains was a relief. But if ee could not acquire the minimum in mid sem then it was kind of tough to pass the mains.

Admission

Got to know about it through reference, my elder brother who was a passout. Gave AICET for admission test. Passed the test and then was interviewed by the administration and qualified that too. I had to come all the way to bombay to give the test and interview.

Faculty

4

Most of the professors are either Masters or PHD, so no doubt in their qualification. But as far as their teaching is concerned, i think all of them took their profession quite seriously. In four years of my college i did not have to turn up for any external source of teaching. And any help anytime all of them were ready.

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
