Review of my college

Colleges applied - Ravenshaw University, Cuttack and Government College of Engineering, Keonjhar but I chose the latter one because I wanted to go for engineering instead of bachelor. I got with Home state quota applied. The minimum marks required was above 45% and JEE percentile score with age 18-21. On the counselling day, my mark sheets, and CLCs were taken and a Demand Draft of advance payment of one year both for college and hostel.

Computer Science and Engineering is the course I chose as I am good in tech and this branch is in high demand now. There are about 40-45 faculties and students are 700-800 in each year, making it a total of 2800-3000 students on the campus. All faculties have acquired a B.Ed degree in common and a PhD/ Masters in their respective subjects. The exams are a bit delayed due to the pandemic going on and talking about the difficulty of examinations, If a good amount of time is spent studying, it's not that difficult to pass.

Fees are minimal, not too high, not too low. However, the facilities provided are affordable with the fees. The infrastructure, machines, lab equipment etc are up to date but there are no scholarships provided to us, on the college campus.

Since the pandemic started there has been no annual fests or tech fests held in our college. There has been every book, journal, the magazine of many authors present in our library with a minimum of 50 copies of each. Every classroom has an amazing infrastructure, with ACs, fans, tables, chairs, benches, whiteboards, projectors and a blackboard. Sports and extra curriculums are in the breath of GCEians. Every week a seminar, tournament, competition and much more are held to enhance the competitive spirit of students. SARC-Space Advancement and Research Cell. RAW-Robotics Club of GCE, RONGOBOTI- Dance Club etc these are the clubs run by the students in our college.

My hostel is located in the Main town of Keonjhar - Mining road. Malls, Shops, saloons are located within a 1 km radius of my hostel. Every room has 2 lights, 2 fans, ACs, 4 beds, 6 shelves and 8 bathrooms. Meals are provided 3 times a day, fresh, succulent and delicious and most important meals are provided on time. Lunch and Dinner always include Desserts like custards, Ice-Creams or Pudding. Special menus are provided on special days like Chicken Biriyani, Chowmin, Fried rice etc. Breakfast - Bread, Idli, Eggs, Paratha, Fruits, Peetha and Dosa (menu varies daily). Lunch - Rice, Dal, Pickle and 2 special items every day which includes Chicken, mutton, fish, egg curry, mixed veg, Paneer etc. Dinner - Roti, Paratha and 2 curries every day which includes egg curry, mixed Vej, soybean, etc.
