Skill and Personality Development in more ways than one

The college management is strict about discipline but that is just another part of the character development of the students.

I gave CAT 2015, secured 99.68% percentile. Shortlisted by IIMs C, L, I, K, new IIMs, IIT-B and others. My preference order was according to the ranking of B-schools in India. IIM-C was ranked 3rd and L was 4th. Didn't clear C interview but converted L.

The course curriculum is regularly updated and is relevant in today's world. It has been designed properly so as to cater to the needs of a wide variety of students coming in with different academic backgrounds. Group projects and reports make the students carry out a lot of extensive research which plays a big role in knowledge enhancement.

The campus provides summer internship opportunities to the students. The experience is hectic but fun at the same time. For marketing, there were top FMCG companies like HUL, ITC, P&G, consulting there were BCG, ATK, finance there were CitiBank, DBS, Standard Chartered, JP Morgan and for general management there were TAS, ABG, RPG.

I have gone through the summer placements process only. 450+ students were placed in the process. Manfest-Varchasva is the annual sports, cultural and management festival which sees participation from top B-schools in India. M-Day is a marketing festival conducted by PRiSM, the marketing cell of IIM Lucknow while Index is an event used to conduct disguised market research. Intra-cultural and sports events also take place.

Fee structure is 14 lakhs for the two year course. This includes everything apart from the mess fees. IIM Lucknow has lower fees as compared to IIMs A,B,C which are in the range 18-20 but higher than new IIMs. However, it is easy to obtain a loan for the course.

ABG has a scholarship program for the top 20 students from campus across India, selected on the basis of their scores in the IIM interviews. I am not aware of other loans facilities/ scholarship programs.

The diversity in the batch is immense- with regards to geographic locations, academic background and the amount of work experience. Regular quiz competitions, workshops, guest lectures and other events are organised by the various committees which ensures that the campus is always full of excitement!

The hostel facilities are good. Each person has his/her own room. Each hostel has common rooms and washing machines. There is regular cleaning and maintenance of the hostels and washrooms. Hostel fees are included in the college fees. Mess food is good an four meals are offered per day (including snacks). The night mess feature is excellent!

Seniors are very helpful. Once can approach any senior any time (whether they know each other or not) and he/she will always try to help the junior. The alumni network is very strong too.

Each term has mid-term exams followed by end-term exams with quizzes happening throughout the term. Balancing quizzes and other extra-curricular activities can get hectic at times but quizzes ensure regular study throughout the term and thus makes it easier in the end-terms.

The faculty of the college possess excellent knowledge as well as communication skills. Students can go to meet faculty to discuss doubts or even send an email to the professor. The professors are always ready to help. They try to make lectures as interactive as possible.
