Conundrum of being 'Best'

College management is strict, rightly for our betterment. But we have enough liberties needed in b-school.

Course rigor is highly challenging. As I am in 1st year, not sure about the electives. Due to time constraints, project work is not in-depth but projects from a wider spectrum have been assigned. Research might be good for FPM students, but the focus of PGP is to give the students as much exposure as possible in these two years.

Yes, they do provide internships. We can not disclose stipends as per the rules. But the profile they provide is diverse.

Job opportunities differ according to prior work and academic profile. And there are sufficient options for profiles across all the sectors. i.e Marketing, Finance, Operations. But placement season is highly competitive, you need to be on the toe and your best to compete among the best in the world.

The fee structure is a bit expensive. The problem with that is every component of fees is not logically quantifiable. Maybe it can be attributed as a goodwill amount for the IIM brand. RoI may justify non-quantifiable fees of premier institutions of India.

We have scholarships for students from underprivileged classes. We also have a scholarship from the Aditya Birla Group.

Campus life is not as colorful as it is in undergrad colleges. The gender ratio is sadly around 70:30 in favor of boys. Sports and cultural events are good. The campus is highly integrated and we are highly dependent on each other. There are more than 100 events or competitions that take place yearly inside the campus.

Single occupancy only, for students in post-graduation is the right idea. Basic amenities such as a water cooler, geyser, and washing machine are provided. Mess food, surprisingly, is good. We have good options for all 4 meals and options for night mess up to 4 AM also.

Interaction with seniors is highly fruitful. The whole 2 years are designed in such a way that you need seniors at each and every step for further progress.

Highly hectic schedule. You almost have exams, quizzes, project work, or presentations every alternate day. Our campus is positioned for a highly rigorous academic program among top b-schools. Exam format differs according to the professor but more or fewer tests your analytical skills more than memory skills.

Honestly, not as per my earlier expectations from IIM. But it also has the advantage, if you know the person who is teaching you can represent India in the world economic forum then, you have lesser miles to be covered to be the best. As professors have consulting assignments from different sectors, they always have good live examples to quote in the classrooms.
