Entrance Preview
I took the IPU B.Tech entrance exam and was alloted a seat in my choice of course i.e B.Tech Computer Science Engineering by the university. I didn't opt for this particular college but was admitted by the university.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is pathetic as it doesn't even include recent advancements in the field of technology. What's good when you are studying about technology that was used 10 years ago. According to me, we should be studying about something we would be using years from now, researching on something, building something, pushing the boundaries of the human race forward.
Internships Opportunities
College doesn't provide internships, they just pressurise 2nd year students to complete their training in-house as they make money out of it. As for third year students they are left on their own for internships or "Industrial experience" as in our curriculum. College also has provisions for internships is the Europe including Italy and Bulgaria but you'll have to pay for it that too more than 1 lac INR.
Placement Experience
I'm not sure about placements and job opportunities as I've still got 1.5 years before passing out. What I observed is that college does averagely on placements and job opportunities. Average companies like Infosys etc. come over every year. I've read some posters about 1 or 2 students placed in HP or NEC but never seen these companies in the college though. Not even sure they were selected on campus or off campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarship facilities are not provided by the college but education loan can be availed. Any bank providing education loan can grant loan for its basic fee excluding transport etc.
Campus Life
Gender Ratio is approximately 10 boys to 5 girls and not sure if it is even that much as in my hall its around 60 boys to only around 10 girls which sums out to approximately 70 students.
Hostel Facilities
The college doesn't have hostel and mess facilities. A newly built canteen is there with a counter of cafe coffee day. Nearby PG's charge around 2500 INR per month for accomodation and 2500 INR per month for food. Accommodation can be shared by around 5 or less students and the rent is then distributed.
Admission
As already mentioned, I took the IPU entrance exam and waited for the result to be released by the university. I didn't score well and waited for initial rounds of seat allotments to complete. All prospective students have to give their choice about which colleges and courses they are interested in and are then allotted seats based on their respective ranks in particular courses and colleges.
