Fastest growing Institute of National Importance and upcoming best IIIT in India

I applied for IIIT Lucknow and IIIT Kota apart from IIIT Sonepat (in which i am in currently). My rank didn't fall in the cutoff range for IIIT Lucknow and after that i was sure inside that IIIT Sonepat would be the one not IIIT Kota. IIIT Sonepat is way better in accomodation (hostels are 'HOTELS'), in academic schedule, in the coding culture or the environment. Best thing about IIIT's are that there are no state quotas. Students from and outside the state are measured with same criteria. Admission here is through the JEE Mains score. Lat time in 2020, the opening and closing ranks for round 1 were 9377 and 15575 respectively and for 2-3 rounds that was almost constant and only a slight increase was seen in the last round cutoff ranks. Counselling was through Josaa and due to covid pandemic, it was online. Josaa provided enough time for documents and fees uploading and also extended its deadline giving no trouble allthroughout the process of 6 rounds + 2 special rounds (called CSAB)

I chose this course because i had keen interest in this field of mine and also found lot of scope. Also IIIT Sonepat is an institute of national importance and pursuing such course of my interest from here is good. Here classroom consists of 60 students each and for every subject there is one qualifed teacher appointed. Faculty over here is very qualified. Teaching Method is very straight and simple. All teachers are students favor. Since due to covid pandemic, Every teacher records video lectures and and provide handwritten notes. For every semester there is one mid-term and at the end end-sem. Tests are easy to pass. Tests include application based questions for the concepts covered in the classroom.

Many startups, companies provided internships. Companies who offered placements also offered for internships. I am currently in 2nd year and interships are offered from 3rd year, therefore, no idea about projects yet.

From 4th semester itself, students are eligible for campus placements.The highest package offered is 44lpa and average package is around 12-13 lpa. Some of the stats of our campus placements are Microsoft offered 44LPA to 2 studnets, Phonepe offered 40lpa to 1 student, Flipkart offered around 24-28lpa to 2 students, Navi Technologies offered around 20lpa+ to 1 student, Disney+Hotstar offered 20lpa+, Jivox offered 15lpa+, etc. Around 83% students gets placed.

Cost to study here is same as somewhere else whereas here better accomodation, mess facilities, etc. are provided. National and State scholarships can be availed for this college. I personally did not choose for any scholarship. As far as fees hiking is concerned, it is an institute of national importance and therefore government decides for that.

IIIT Sonepat organises an annual fest which go by the name BLITZ and Cultural fests too. Various coding fests, Hackathon fests and monthly two events under EBSB. All the books and material for the course curriculum is available in the college's library and provided to every student. Classrooms are very spacious with a capacity of holding about 100 students with both black board and smart board. Our college has an activity room with about 400+ accomodation possible and the room has very nice audio and video setups. There is also a large sized computer in our college for webinars, etc. There is a pathway around the campus for walking, jogging, running, etc. There are beautiful parks wherein yoga can be done. A ground is there nearby where football, cricket can be played. Inside the campus table tennis is available. This institute has a number of clubs including almost every area of interests. Photography club, music and dance club, Enigmatic club(Technical), e - cell, opulence club, etc.

Hostel rooms of IIIT Sonepat are HOTELS. One of the best accomodation is in IIIT Sonepat. Two single beds, two separate study desks with lamps, a small refrigerator, a LED, centralised A.C.. With all such amenities, the cost for hostel is perfect. Meal is satisfactory. 24 hours coffee, tea, snacks are available in the mess. I haven't rented a room or PG, but about 2-3 kms from the campus, there is a PG.
