I was pre-decided to take this course as it was only one institution in our city that provides a foundational course to the civil services aspirants. I want to study social sciences as I was of the view that it would be easier for me to go for the public service having a social science background.

Our program is research oriented, Each semester we had to go for with a topic and made a term paper and present it to the class. I prepared 6 term papers throughout my degree program and it gave me opportunity to work at grass root level and this helped me to inculcate the sense of social science research in my approach to any project.

Internship were not provided within the School. But School is always supportive and encouraging students to go for these kind of activities. I myself done three internships during my undergraduate program. Even my professor encouraged and guided me to take my own projects.

The department does not have a Placement Cell. But the alumnus of the schools showed good result having its students cleared UPSC and other public services exams. Moreover, students get placed in the prestigious master programs. Some of them get fellowships and other get placed in social and non profit sector.

Youth Festival: Inter-University cultural festival, Jashan: Inter-departmental cultural festival, Interdepartmental Sports. Students as per their interest can apply for the respective interest. Circular issued to all the department and displayed on the notice board of all departments.

For our course, it is feasible, only around 24000 and in a split of two instalments. Furthermore, financial aid is available to the students by the university for the unprivileged students. But other expenses like non-subsidised living cost and hostel expenses put burden on students.

I have availed the hostel facility because I am one of the localities. But my friends who used to live in the hostel are facing problems like clean drinking water, sometimes electricity problem and for girls, there were certain restrictions. Like they are not allowed to go out after in the evening from a hostel.

There is 'Major and Minor' examination system followed in the University. We have semester exam count for marks called as Majors and two minor exams of 1-hour duration in between the semester exam counts for 20 marks each. And Term paper activity is 10 marks, collectively 100 marks for each subject. It is a hectic examination system and student hardly finds time for extracurricular activities.

When the notification issued, I filled a form online that was available at the university website and it cost me 1000 at that time being the application fee that has to be deposited with gndu's bank account. Later on the basis of our form, specifically based on our senior secondary marks and matriculation marks, a merit list was issued. The date for the counselling was given and ranks were issued.

Faculty are highly professional and well qualified. Some of my teacher personally guided me in my journey. Sometimes a student may be victim of interdepartmental politics of teachers. but overall performance for the students and in respect of their academic knowledge was commendable. they always supported student initiative and encourage them to explore.
