Remarks
I applied for the BBA course online at NIMS University, Jaipur. I got a call from the counselor and she gave me the details of the course and guided me through the process of admission. You need to pass class 12 to take admission in BBA at NIMS. There are no specific age criteria. I got a 50% scholarship for the first year so I had to pay Rs 25000 as tuition fees instead of Rs 50000. Students from Bihar get scholarships of 30-35% in their second year and third year as well. Alternatively I got admission in Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Sonepat, Haryana in BBA. But I didn't take admission there as all the formalities were already done at NIMS University.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose BBA because I want to pursue MBA for my higher studies. Apart from 1-2 teachers, each semester the teachers get changed because of the subjects. There are 55 students and about 4-5 teachers in the BBA of my batch. The ratio is good. The faculties are good and helpful. Their teaching method can be confusing at times but overall if you concentrate hard then it's pretty good. As far as I have seen during my first year, the end term exams were conducted in the 4th month of a semester. One major issue is that they inform about the exams only a few days prior officially. Otherwise, it's good and timely mostly. The exams were moderate. If you study well then you ll score good or else you will score average marks.
Internships Opportunities
I didn't get a chance to do an internship as I am still in my 3rd semester. But my seniors got internships at companies like TenHard Publishing, several banking sectors, and others. Some of them got internships through Internshala and other online websites. The stipend provided by Tenhard is Rs 10000. The interns basically needed to sell magazines and their services to gain internship experience. I would personally advise that it's better to find an internship on your own for maximum satisfaction and productivity.
Placement Experience
Since I am in my 3rd semester so there's still time for internship. But based on the experiences of my seniors, I can say that the college provides internship during 4th or 5th semester. And for placements, it's 5th and 6th semester. The college is average at placements. It depends on your smartness and knowledge to get placed. As of now, 4-5 seniors got placed at companies like HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, etc. The average package is somewhere around 2-4 LPA. I am planning to pursue MBA after my graduation now.
Fees and Financial Aid
Let me give the break down of the fees of my batch (it may increase now) - Admission fees - Rs 2000 Annual tuition fees - Rs 50000 Transportation fees - Rs 40000/year Examination fees - Rs 7000/semester Club activities fees - Rs 6000/year Hostel fees - Rs 60000/year (Non-ac 4 seater) Mess fees - Rs 15000/year I got 50% scholarship for first year. So I had pay Rs 25000 as tuition fees. Let me share my expenses during first year - Admission fees - Rs 2000 Tuition fees - Rs 25000 Transportation fees - Rs 40000 Club activities - Rs 6000 Examination fees - Rs 7000/semester (Rs 14000) Total - Rs 87000 (my first year fees) For second year, I would need to pay Rs 110,000 as tuition fees is Rs 50000, transportation is Rs 40000, club activities is Rs 6000 and examination is Rs 14000 (3rd and 4th sem included) Those who are from the state of Bihar may get 30-35% scholarship in their second and third year. As for the job, I just reached 3rd semester so can't say anything about it.
Campus Life
To be honest, because of the covid situation, I didn't see any kind of fest apart from a Holi celebration and a DJ night party. Maybe this year fest would be conducted. There are tons of books in the library which are free to use. You can take these books home for a maximum of 7 days. There are certain groups of acting, music, dancing, etc that students can participate in. The mass media department manages such groups and posts frequently on social media sites. The classrooms are good and large. There are several lecture theatres for students. Projectors, fans, etc are there. Students can play basketball, football, cricket, etc. There's also a swimming pool and gym that students can use.
Other Applied Colleges
Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Sonepat | BBA
I didn't opt for this college because already I had paid money to NIMS University
