Average College

My overall experience is average as the college only cares if you have 75% attendance it does not looks how bright a student you are.

I never took any examinations, the admission was purely on the marks I got in 12th standard. I opted for btech (mechanical) so only physics,chemistry and maths were taken into consideration.

The course basically strengthens upon the book knowledge as it is everywhere in India. There is as such no research but industrial visits are organised once a year. There are workshops also once in a blue moon. There are internals which are of 24 marks and they are conducted thrice per semester. Then there are university examinations.

Companies such as mahindra, google, Microsoft, flipkart, amazon, cognizant, etc do come. There are not many companies for mechanical but there is a great scope for computer science. The average package is around 3-3.5 lakhs per annum.

The average package is around 3-3.5 lakhs per annum. In mechanical only 50-60 students gets placed out of 3000 students. In computer science 85% of the students get placed ever year.

Now talking about the technical fests. There are lots and lots of technical fest being conducted in the college itself. There are 2-3 cultural fests as well per year. But coming to the main fest that is organised by management is such a poor and on such a low scale that it looks like a desi mela. It is called parivartan and the standard is pretty low.

Fees is really feasible considering there are students from all around the parts of India. If you have opted for btech Fees is- 43000/semester And hostel fees is- 35000/semester. So the academic fees is not high and it is feasible if we look at the other colleges.

This is the best part of this college. Scholarships are given to students who have excel in their 12th standard board examinations. After that loans and scholarships are given to students who are in minority or poor.

Gender ratio in college is 600:400. There are many cultural socities. There is no gender discrimination as such. There is no politics as there is no student council in the college which is a very big disadvantage. Economic status of students is good.

Hostel facilities- 4 seater/2seater rooms Wifi 24 hours Sharing bathrooms Sharing toilets 1 Cooler provided in every room Mess (also provides snacks at evening). Now the mess food is not really good and sometimes the worst It is not worth the money we pay for.

A famous punjabi singer sharry mann is the alumini of fhe college. And yes the seniors are great very helpful and helps in understanding the overall view of college.

It is not a very hectic schedule we get much time for the study. There are three sessionals every semester out of which we have to give two and then there are university exams. Sessional are of 24 marks each. University exams are of 60 marks. Out of which 24 are the passing marks required to clear the examination.

The faculty is good.I wont say great because there are some heads who are really rude but overall everyone is helpful and good. The standards of teaching are average but the teachers do great job on their part. Once a week presentations are being conducted and the whole projecter thing.
