Remarks

I got the college as a general candidate. There are no age barriers as such. The minimum marks depend on the difficulty level of the exam. The counseling took place online due to covid. The online counseling was quite flexible and there were customer care executives who would help in case of any difficulty. Documents required are the 10th mark sheet,12th mark sheet, aadhar card, passport size photo, rank card.

Course Curriculum Overview

Computer Science is coming out as an emerging field and has lots of opportunities to succeed in life. It gives the knowledge of software which helps us to interact with the computer which is the need of the hour. Faculties are very helpful and knowledgeable and most of them hold Ph.D. Degree. The maximum number of students in our stream is 180. Teachers help in solving problems related to study. They also help in research work. As the college is affiliated with MAKAUT so exams take place according to the MAKAUT curriculum. The level of the semester exam is moderate. Besides the semester exams, there are four CA(continuous assessment) and two PCA(practical assessment) in every semester. By revising the previous 10-year paper any student can pass the semester exam with flying colors. But in order to get good marks one must work very hard from the beginning of the semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fee is 665503. It includes tuition fees, hostel, and mess fees. The hostels are well managed and the quality of the mess food is also above average. The college doesn't provide any scholarships. The West Bengal government does provide some scholarships which are available only for students living in West Bengal. There are various clubs that provide work with stipends.

Campus Life

The annual fest of the college is held in Feb-mar every year. The fest is divided into two parts -INFO QUEST is the technical fest and LEGANZA is the name of the cultural fest. Classrooms are well maintained and they are quite big and spacious. There is an annual national photography contest also organized by AEC called Flikarazze. The Asansol Engineering College Photo club is affiliated with FIP which is the National Body for Photography in India. Another club of this reputed college is SCIWIZ Science Club.

Placement Experience:

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
