Entrance Preview

No entrance exam . Selection on the basis of Class 12 marks . I scored 91.5% in class 12 under I.S.C board. I choose Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration because it is the no. 1 college for B.Com under the University of Calcutta.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, the college provides for internship. I don't know about the stipend it provides. I don't have knowledge and the experience as I am in the 3rd year.

Placement Experience

The placement and job opportunities are great. Many companies have come for placements . The companies are well known with great job opportunities. Around 50 students get job every year. On an average company coming for placements provide Rs 30000 to 400000 annually.

College Events

The events celebrated in our college are like Republic Day, Independence Day, College's Foundation Day. Annual Sports Day. Annual College Function called Quest. Small events like badminton and table tennis competition . The students take part actively in all the events making a great success.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Our College is government college . The fee structure is very economical. All the expenses are provided by the Government. The fee is very minimal and feasible . The monthly fee is Rs. 85. And the fees is collected after six months . The fees is collected in the students section with proper arrangements .

Fees and Financial Aid

Many scholarship facilities a re provided .But I haven't availed any as I don't fulfill any criterion for availing .

Campus Life

The campus life is great with a very friendly environment . Nice relation between students from different years . Gender ratio is 60-40 . In our college 60% Re girls and 40% boys . Extracurricular include drama, debate , essay competition , articles for college magazine.

Exam Structure

Exam is held twice in a year. Once a selection test and final exam. It is not hectic , it is very chilled out . The exam are necessary to check the progress and to move forward with knowledge and skill and power of intellect . The passing percentage is 40% in both the exams.

Admission

Applied for admission on the College's website through online procedure. Three different selection list were out with names of around 400 students. The notification for selection was out after 10 days of applying. The administration was excellent and helpful to understand and proceed with the process of admission.

Faculty

The faculty is one of the best in the entire state of West Bengal. Very supporting and helping environment created by the faculty. An environment to learn and gain knowledge . Our college is known for the faculty and it stands out in the teaching field.

There are placements in the college campus in the last semester with several companies coming for interviews such as big 4 and big 6 companies and the placements are around 60000-70000 per month after the course.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

INSIGHTS OF GCCBA

Goenka college of commerce and business administration is the second best college in Kolkata and the best college under Calcutta University. Hence it has a brand value. I got admission offers in SXUK, Jaipuria THK Jain and Bhawanipur college, But this was the best option I had. The admission process is through your boards marks. Proud to be Goenkan

I got admission in Aliah University which is in New Town Kolkata I got rank 12. I applied in Shri Shikshathan College also and got admission in first list. I rejected both the colleges as Aliah University though it is a reputed college but the placement committee is not as good as Goenka College of commerce. I applied for BBA + MBA integrated program in Aliah University but I wanted to pursue BCom honours in accountancy and finance thus I rejected Aliah University. Shri shikshayatan college on the other hand is another reputed college in which I applied for bcom honours in accountancy and finance I rejected Shri shikshayatan college as no doubt Goenka College is way more better than Shree shikshayatan and Shri shikshayatan is comparatively very much expensive in comparison with goenka. Shri shikshayatan takes around 250000 tuition fee on the other hand Goenka College charges only 4090 rs for 4 years....Read More
