My college experience- [BIIB], Pune

I have applied for IBS Hyderabad and didn't opted because of the high fee another college I applied to and got was nmims Bangalore again fee was a bit high so didn't opt. I haven't got any quota. Then I decided to take admission in Balaji Institute of int business and Balaji college is one of the well-known colleges of Pune known for its strictness and director Bala sir was a well-known personality. Balaji college focuses more on academics marks and gd pi score rather than cat or any other competitive exam score my age during admission time was 23 years my interview was conducted in Gwalior admission process went through gd and pi and conduction was smooth first every student gathered in a particular hotel than seniors guided everyone some speech was there then finally gd pi took place.

I was in finance so the course consisted of all financial subjects after 1st semester like corporate finance, spam, etc some of the senior faculties were highly qualified and expert in their field some faculties also taught in IIM. I chose this course because from 12th itself I was more interested in financial subjects class strength was 59 and faculties for every subject. Exams were conducted on a regular basis surprise ( internal test) as well as external it's not possible to pass out from Balaji without backlogs ( sayings) but if you keep studying in classes and some self-study you will pass easily.

For internships many companies come on campus gd pi takes place bug names like Deloitte comes and take 2 students only like this but everyone gets internships easily in Balaji. Various roles are offered different projects for different candidates finance, marketing research, etc. My project was related to finance excel work route cost analysis my senior helped me by giving clarity about the project. Then my project and everyone has to give a presentation after coming to college in their project what they did in an internship.

Campus placement of the college is 100% but some get good companies and some don't but overall many corporates come during placements placement is good highest package 10 LPA and avg 5 LPA one needs to have no backlogs and they are eligible from 3rd sem itself for placements. Nearly 100's of companies visited the college during campus placement and everyone got placed because the huge opportunity is there till the end especially for marketing there are various profiles are offered by companies in every field like finance, marketing, HR, operations, etc but for finance companies are less and placement is not that good students get marketing profile. My plan is to set my own business but right now want to gain more experience by remaining in my job and learn more and more.

Fee Structure was like nearly 8 lakh for 2 years sone expenses were unnecessary on the part of a college like a magazine subscription which was of no use and some other unnecessary expenses as well cost was a bit ok as it was PGDM and PGDM is generally expensive than MBA. I didn't get any financial assistance but I got placed in campus placement and avg package was 5 lakh PA in finance. Fee Structure includes college study fee, magazine, lic, some other certification courses , extra activities, etc, library fee, hostel fee, and many other charges and cost was 8 lakh for 2 years.

College campus Life was superb everyone knows Balaji college is known for its strictness and parties and fests as well.. you have a tough time and awesome time as well on campus is nearly built on 20-acre land 4 buildings ( 4 colleges of Balaji) and then hostel compound full of greenery quite big campus no need to go anywhere you'll find everything in the campus itself. In the library, one can find each and everything 4 libraries, 2 huge auditoriums. the etc classroom is well equipped with all basic facilities and projector as well for other things there is compute lab as well. college does not focus on sports but students can play on their own various sports on campus-like basketball, volleyball, cricket, etc. Extracurricular activities like a dance show, fashion show, rewarding competitions, etc like aiyaswamy cup winner gets 150000 prizes.

The hostel was quite decent right after receiving the call letter with a fee one can submit a hostel fee as well hostel consist of clusters in every cluster there are 4 separate rooms in each room 3 students are there girls and boys hostels are separate that's obvious. We get a sofa in the cluster where all can study and have a fun time as well in-room beds, almirah, table, chair for every candidate meal is superb. Balaji is well known for its food as well 4 huge messes delicious food no one is going to miss home food for sure one huge AC mess meal I will give 100. Hostel one can also avail other facilities but they have to pay like gym, iron, clothes wash, swimming pool, etc. The hostel is quite affordable.

I went through gd and pi on the day of the admission process and before that one English writing test as well. Gd topics were generally current affairs. I gave it in 2016 and sometimes they give the current topic and sometimes universal topics as some people agree to it and some disagree. In the interview, they asked me a question about myself and some question regarding college and my subject field from accountancy. I just went through important topics before appearing for gd it just like if you have knowledge about any topic you can speak in gd easily not a tough deal.
