Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure was very good. we had 8 semesters. The first year being 2 semesters together. The subjects were well laid out as had unique subjects every semester. No repetition. Some of the subjects were totally new but the lab facilities were good.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, they do provide internship. I did not get any stipend in late 90's . I am told they provide one now. Overall its was good.
Placement Experience
Not much in my times. But I am told it is great now. Many companies come . Especially the IT companies flock very much now. All leading companies in and around Chennai do come in for campus recruitment. Infosys, TCS, Cognizant, L&T, etc are the lead runners to pick the cream among the students.
College Events
Annual Day, College Fest, sports day & culturals. Cultural and College fest are one of the best comparing any university standards. We also feature in inter college sports tournaments and our boys have shined well in most of the tournaments . Annual day is an internal fest for the college where the whole college participates in many programs.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships are awarded. I am not sure of the loan offered by the college. They how ever facilitate for bank educational loan processing.
Campus Life
The gender ratio is good and I would say fairly equal. The diversity is also good with students from across the country , all classes , religions and creed. All sporting and extracurricular activities are promoted. Many symposiums , debates and competitions are organised. Even inter college meets and competitions are hosted frequently.
Admission
Gave in an application and was called for an interview. The process was fairly easy and simple with less waiting time and the choice of the group was also provided to me as per my request. The was no tension in the air and it was well organised . The appointments were strictly adhered to and the no drag. The admission process was also very easy with we paying the fees at the counter and no exorbitant charges.
Faculty
The faculty were good overall. Of course we did nave some fresh lecturers but there enthusiasm was good. We were respected very well as individuals and taught with strict discipline.We never missed any class because of the faculty. Even the lab technicians were good and knowledgeable.
