College is quite decent but if you work hard a decent college can become a extraordinary college.

I took admission at UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (UIT) under University of Burdwan in Bachelor of Engineering (B. E) in Civil Engineering in the year of 2020. I ranked in WBJEE and through the counselling process, I got this college in the 2nd round of counselling. Then I confirmed my seat in this college by paying the admission fees. The counselling process was held in September (1st week) due to a pandemic situation. The minimum marks required is 60% in Science Stream and 60% in English in Higher Secondary. You can also take Admission into this college through JEE MAINS as it is an Autonomous University.

I choose the Civil Engineering branch because its fully my choice and the main reason is that this is one of the best government colleges in West Bengal where the Civil Engineering branch exists with top notch facilities recruited by the examination conducted by the Govt of West Bengal. All the facilities are almost PhD holders and are well experienced. The teaching methods are unique which are really understandable to the students easily. There are 5 to 6 main facilities and some are guest lecturers in each department. The seats in every branch are almost full. 60 seats available in each branch to get admission in 1st year. Within a gap of 6 months, the semester exams are held as per schedule. In between a semester, Mid Semester Exams are their whose marks are added with the semester. The Semester exams are a little tough but if you attend the classes regularly then it becomes easy for you.

Different companies offer internships. One should apply for it. The college supports them in various ways. Especially college also provides some internships which are timely basis. Different industrial visit and construction area sites management. If anyone applies on their own then college helps to provide that opportunity.

Campus placement is not so well. But Some students are placed in reputed companies with high packages. Many students go for higher studies and most prominently our college students secure a Good Score in the GATE examination. Students are eligible for campus placement after the 5th semester probably. Different MNCs like TCS, cognizant, Wipro, L and T, Bridge and Roof and many more visit our college. According to a college report, in this Academic year, the highest package of 14 lakh per annum was offered by a company. The average placement record is not too good. After completing B. E, my plan is for higher study.

The fees structure is quite decent in comparison with other private Engineering colleges. But recently the Semester fees are being hiked by the college management due to some reasons, like overall maintenance, development charges, etc. The fees structure is divided into each semester and hostel charges are separate. Different scholarships are also available. With the required eligibility criteria, one can apply for it and get through a specific process. I m now in 1st year so I didn't experience the Placement till now. Hope I will get a good Placement at this college.

The campus and buildings are quite decent. This college is situated within the campus of Burdwan University. Various fests are organized by this college. Tech fest, Robotic fest, Cultural fest, Coding fest, Social programs are also there. Like Quiz competitions, Debate, Photography competitions, gaming contests, etc Almost different author books can be seen in the Library of each department and our respected facilities thesis are published in many international journals, which are also available. Some Smart classrooms with well equipped infrastructure can be seen. Football ground and volleyball court are there within our campus. Other than this two different games are there. Our College has its own Cricket team, Football team, Basketball team. Extracurricular activities like singing, dancing, drawing, photography, painting, indoor games, yoga, etc can be seen on our campus. Social groups of our college include the UIT Union Association, NSS team of UIT BURDWAN, UIT Welfare and many others.
