Entrance Preview

I gave mh-cet, and i do not remember the marks i scored. But i do remember that they were pretty low so by gods grace and some good luck, i somehow made my way into the last cut off list.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is pretty thorough, but the first two years into engineering teaches nothing about automobiles. We have some important subjects in the first two years, but not all subjects are needful, but there is nothing the college can do about it, as the syllabus in under the university and not the college.

Internships Opportunities

Our college does not provide any internship from their side, but if we want to do any internship and get to it, they will provide with a letter which helps us with getting the internship.

Placement Experience

2

Placement is not something which pleases anyone in our college. The only company that comes is tcs, which is of no use to my field. We had seen many years, but no good company has visited us for placements. The placement procedure is also very difficult. Firstly the marks required for application of placement which kicked me off. So after requesting and pleading and everything, i was just not eligible for placement.

College Events

5

We had a huge range of college fest starting from february all the was to june or july. Something or the other always use to happen in our college. I personally avoid events with large gatherings, as i feel suffocated and claustrophobic, but i made sure that i atleast went for the event and showed my face to my friends, as they were the managing committee, so just showed them my support and left the event.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees is a bit on the expensive side. I my self paid over 1 lacs fees per year. The fee structure was very good for the student falling under casts n all, but for people under general category the fee killed us. I am proud of my parents that they worked hard and could afford my and my brothers fee in the same college at the same time, but i have seen few of my friends struggling to arrange the fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college did offer scholarship, but to the top students only. People who scored above 70% were only eligible for scholarships, and i was way way off from that mark. However my brother did get the scholarship for the first two years, due to which i was constantly reminded me of how bad i was in studies, but it did not matter much to me. After my brothers scholarship failed because he performed a little bit bad in one exam, i was relieved.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni and the seniors were more of friend. You just need to know how to talk to whom. Every senior had a attitude, and they always wanted us to feel that they were superior to us. I never liked that attitude, so made friends with all the seniors i could, and those who were a bit extra edgy, i simply ignored them.

Exam Structure

The exams structure is like any other college. We have a unit test and an end sem exam. The unit test is no doubt a burden between all the lectures and the submissions, but it somehow helps us in knowing that how much we are prepared for the end sem. The labs were equipped moderately, but then the equipment are also not very cheap.

Admission

After i gave my mh-cet, i was enjoying my vacation as every other 18 yr old does. I wanted to go to bangalore or pune, as there were more automobile oriented colleges, but my parents knew me way too well so the told me clearly that if i wanted to study then study here, or sit at home. As pillai's was 15 minutes away from my place we chose that.

Faculty

4

The faculty is simply awesome. The teachers are as friendly as any friend could be. They helped me during my exams, my practicals and vivas. There are a few professors who do act very strict and hard, but when time comes, even they help us out. I face problems with or professors, but except for them everyone are super friendly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.

All faculty members are well-qualified and experienced. The course is very vast but the teaching faculty cover it through their extra lectures and practicals.
