Give a chance to this college If you are seeking for lower IIITs

I have applied for the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of petroleum technology and applied for JOSAA counseling. I availed OBC-NCL Reservation. Admission is based upon JEE advanced scores. To get admission into this college you must qualify for JEE Advanced. For 2020 batch counseling was done in online mode. You have to submit all documents prescribed on the website.

I choose this course because of its versatility. and I have a keen interest in thermodynamics and chemical calculations. The faculty student ratio is 1:18. The qualification of faculties are up to the IIT level. All of them are PhD. They teach good. As, students are in very less amount So, we can have good personal attention.

The students are eligible from the seventh semester. The placement scenario is fine. It is better than IITs in our department. As this college only provides chemical and petroleum engineering. So, We can't expect the placement as CSEs of top NITS and IITs. Nearly all oil PSUs visit our college. They take about 10% of students whereas Some private companies like Schlumberger, TCS, Adani gas, L and T, SHELL, Coromandel, Aurobindo, Some startups, etc. takes 70% of students. So, 60% of students get placed on campus after ending of the course. Rest 40% seeks higher education, MBA, etc. My plan is to get placed in a decent company.

The fees structure is like, 1. Tuition fees-75,000 2. Miscellaneous fees- 5,000 (Approx) 3. Hostel fees- 25,000 Fees hike is not been significant in the last 2 years. The scholarship is provided to the economically weaker sections. 1. Students whose family income is less than 1 lakh- 100% on tuition fees 2. Students whose family income is less than 5 lakh - 66.66% on tuition fees For now there is no job on campus.

For the past 1 year, there are online classes that occur in Cisco Webex. We have a temporary campus at Andhra university. As the college is new So, We have no permanent campus. But, All the basic amenities are provided like Psychological counseling, High-speed internet, etc. We have all the web journals. The temporary library has nearly 10,000 books. The classroom has all the facilities which are in IITs. Sports and all extracurricular activities are done here. We have a very little amount of students So, the probability of getting a chance in any activity is very high.

Basically, I have attended online classes SO, can't tell about the hostels. But, Seniours told me that Hostels are pretty good. The college has rented some private hostels and they are really good and we can compare them with 2-star hotels.
