I am currently studying in the college of engineering and management Kolaghat, 3rd year in the computer science department. I got 15000 ranks in wbjee and got this college after counseling. I am happy with my college. Faculties are very informative and helpful.

Course Curriculum Overview

Faculties are highly qualified and some are IITians. They gave us very good quality notes. The learning experience is excellent under them. In our college, before semester total 2 mid-term test is taken by faculties. Sometimes they take quizzes. They also give us handwritten notes through their respective mail.

Internships Opportunities

I am in the 5th semester. I am planning to get an internship from the nit. I am trying to get a stipend also. The seniors are very helpful. They try to help in every aspect. My project idea take ai in my own. Let's see what happens.

Placement Experience

After the 6th semester, you get the opportunity to sit in placements. Wipro, tcs, Flipkart, Amazon etc top-notch companies are for placement. You can get easily 4-5 lpa. In cse 92% student gets placement. After my degree, I will appear in the gate exam for my higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are totally fine. I am happy with it. I also get scholarship (SVMCM) 60,000 rs. per year. College also gave some assistance in fees matter.Many companies like wipro,tcs, flipkart tied up with our college.They give the students job opportunities after pass out.

Campus Life

In the month of march, a technical and cultural fest is being held. Tech fest is called as resonance and cultural fest is called as spandan. There is awesome environment there. Our college magazine name is corona. Lots of books are there in college library. Overall campus experience is terrific.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel life is as good as it gets. In rooms, you get your separate bed, almari, chair, table. In every room there is attached bathroom , toilet. Every floor there are 3-4 aqua gurads . You get total 3 times of meal each day. In morning you will get very healthy and good breakfast. Launch and dinner also available.

Hostel Fee: INR 19000 per year

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
