Remarks

After only getting 13k rank in JEE ADV., IIT was not an option so next best thing was to take admission through JAC. I always had an interest in electronics so I wanted to get ECE if I could or else EE. Admission through JAC was pretty smooth with no problem but as soon as last round ended in JAC, NSUT sent a mail regarding fees as I had already fixed my seat in NSUT ECE. They asked for 87k, for complete 1st-year fees(190k), giving us only 2 days to pay it and this was after we had already paid 103k to for fixing my seat in JAC. This was a real problem at that time as most people were ready to pay right away after paying such a large amount. On the other hand, DTU didn't ask for whole year's fees like that so it was a only NSUT thing. Now, as our 1st year is just about to finish and 2nd year about to start, NSUT asked for us to pay 202k (for 2nd year) in one go without any option for paying in installments directly violating AICTE regarding fees to be taking in 3 to 4 installments.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

I always had an interest in electronics, so I decided that I will take ECE in an NIT/DTU/NSUT or if I got into IIT, I will take ECE or else EE. After finding out that NSUT has the best ECE as it's the oldest branch there, I decided on NSUT ECE. The class size here is about 60 which isn't too bad. The teachers are well qualified but knowing something and being able to teach it are two different things. Similar to almost everywhere else, there are a few excellent teachers and a few not-so-great teachers who only read PDFs in classes. As I have only taken online classes, I can't be sure about their teaching proficiency offline. For 1st semester, after a short 3-month online semester with 1 viva, 1 long, and 3 short tests, we were supposed to give offline end semester exams. 1st sem results aren't out yet but a few teachers have told us that quite a lot of students have been failed. Also, all exams including end sem, all subjects' exams are taken on consecutive days without any gap in between

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Internships are available in NSUT but mostly for technical branches like CS COE IT etc. There is also an internship fair that is organized for students to get good internship opportunities. To be honest, I don't have much information about this.

Placement Experience

5

Placement is the best thing about NSUT as large tech giants like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Cisco, Qualcomm etc. along with government organizations like Bharat Petroleum LTD., MTNL, Airport Authority of India etc. In total more than 150 companies come to NSUT every year Packages range from 4 LPA to 1.25 crore per annum. The university boasts about its 100% placement which is technically true as all students are offered some package. The average package is about 7.75LPA. My plan is to get either get placed in a PSU either by college placement or by giving GATE exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are like this as of right now, 1st year -> 190k 2nd year -> 206k 3rd year -> 219k 4th year -> 229k Fees for entire year is always to be paid in one go without any option to pay in installments. There is a scheme called CSVPK (Chattra Vittiya Sahayta Evam Protsahan Kosh) which helps students, who are financially weak. Also, scholarship in tuition fees is given to top 5% students of each branch. Selection is based on aggregate marks of whole year required that student passed all subjects in one attempt. Also, even if one is not eligible for CSVPK but still has problems being able pay such large sums of money in one go, they can apply for an education loan and with NSUT being a pretty prestigious university, there won't be too much issue in getting a loan.

Campus Life

3.5

As all my experience of NSUT has been online, there isn't much I know about. There are quite a lot of societies in NSUT like music (Crescendo), stand up comedy (Shakesjeer), robotics(Ares), debate(DebSoC), programming and web development (IOSD-NSUT), teaching under privileged children (Prayas) and a whole lot more. There is a new complex built, named after late Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, called APJ complex. We only had some classes there when university was opened for a few weeks in Feburary - March 2021. It has large class rooms with automatic lights, microphone for teacher, a large screen that displayed computer screen on which teacher taught, WiFi etc.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
