NITK College Review by a fresher

This college is one of the top engineering college in india ,even top than many IITs etc. ,this college is at very decent nirf anking,naturally location is also very beautiful, the branch i wantes to take has nice average placement in this college, this college have its private beach. Other collleges are also good i filled my preference choices according to my rank i got this college . this college was at my second choice place and i got this in my last councelling round . I am so grateful to destiny and my hardwork ,support of parents and teachers. On my first preference order NIT Trichy was there as my branch has good past academics and placements. I got NITRourkela tilll 5th round of josaa . And in final round I got NITK and I locked it as i only wanted to take it. I got rejected by NITT becouse of may be my rank . as others were deserving that more than me. Admission in college is the last step to get into the college.these engineering colleges are taking admissions through the exam named JEE Mains and Advanced.The eligibility for this exam is the student who is studying in class 12th or till 2 yrs dropper can give exam with subjects taken PCM or PCMB in +1 /+2.they have to clear the CBT based exam and than cutoffs comes and colleges are taking students by councelling process. The JEE Mains exam is for 3 hours and Advanced is for 6 hours with parts of two 3-3 hours in paper-1 and 2 .Cutoffs for general in mains for year 2025 was 93 percentile ....Read More

I got other NITs like NIT Calicut. But I preferred NIT K Surathkal over others because this ranked higher in NIRF system . Also the ECE department of NITK is the best . So I rejected other NITs. The Admission is via JOSSA based on you JEE Mains score....Read More

After GATE exam, I applied to almost all top NITs like NIT Trichy, NIT Surathkal, NIT Warangal, NIT Calicut etc during CCMT counselling . I had also applied in IIT Dhanbad in COAP counselling. I got IIT Dhanbad in 8th round. I spoke to my coaching Sir, he had advised me to go for top 3 NITs rather than IIT Dhanbad. Since these three NITs are well established and offer better placement opportunities as compared to IIT Dhanbad which is relatively a new IIT. One needs to qualify GATE exam to get a shot at taking admission in IITs/NITs. Once you qualify the GATE exam you can then look at specific colleges cutoff for admission. I got NIT Surathkal in special round 1 which was held after 3 regular rounds.
