Remarks
WBJEE had three level of counseling and I got BCREC in the second. It was a good college as I already knew few studying there so I opted it. The exam has minimum eligibility criteria of 60% marks in your 10th and 12th. And yours marks decide your college in counseling.
Course Curriculum Overview
The student ratio was 1:60 in my class. I chose this because I wanted to build a career in CS only. All faculties are Ph.D or MTech from prestigious colleges like NIT Durgapur, IIEST Shibpur etc. Semester exams happen twice a year termed as odd-even having two internals/mid-sem in each.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like IOCL, Maheswari Mining, Infosys, etc offered internships for various roles like management to developer and even testing. I build a project on Java and MySQL, it was basically a web application. It was a CRM- Customer Relationship Management.
Placement Experience
From 6th sem onwards, companies start visiting our campused and we are allowed to sit in. There were many big names like Cognizant, Capgemini, TCS, Jio, Hitachi Vitara, Juspay, Delhivery, etc that visited our campus for hiring. The highest package offered was 12LPA by Juspay. Average package ranges between 3.5-5LPA. From my class, 65-75% students have been placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees hike was very minimal. I got placed on-campus in Bridgera LLC, which offered me a 4 month internship as well. There were also a lot of MNCs like TCS, Infosys, IBM, etc, hiring from our college. I also cleared the Capegemini one but chose to stay in this because of the profile.
Campus Life
Annual fest and Tech Fest are conducted in the month of February or March. There's a library having plenty of books to read and issue one. Classrooms were smart as well as the college had well-equipped laboratories. There were many extracurricular activities like Treasure Hunt, Cricket, Football, Volleyball, BasketBall, etc. Inter College championships used to be organized for the same.
