Remarks

I applied for b.com prog in MOTILAL NEHRU COLLEGE, DU. I had 94% in my 12th, which was the cut-off in 2019 for the course. I went for admission after the second cut-off list was out. The admission process was not very pleasant since there were a lot of crowds. I had to wait a lot for my turn even after turning up early in the morning. The orientation was brief and to the point which was good. Also plus points to how we were greeted by the seniors while going to our separate course-wise orientation which was set up in the classrooms.

I choose the course since I was a commerce student and the only available courses for my stream were b.com prog and b.cpm Hons. I couldn't opt for hons because I did not have maths in my 12th. The student-to-teacher ratio is around 80:1. The faculty is good, very knowledgeable but they do not take a lot of effort in their teaching method. The exams are on a semester basis thus a total of sem in a 3-year course

Internships Opportunities

there have been opportunies offered by different companies like KPMG, white hat jr., and a lot of new start-ups. I have done 2 internships so far. One was a live project and another was a content writting internship.

Placement Experience

We have a placement cell that works throughout the year. They keep sending internship oppurutinities throughout the year. then there is a placement drive for the graduating class. The packages offered varry from 3l to 6l might exceed.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is comparatively very low. But if you are from another city you might have to bear the cost of your accomodation. The nearby available accomodation is high due to the locality but its quite nice so it' worth, I would say. I took a pg just in front of my college.

Campus Life

There are different societies, you'll find one for every extracurricular activity. Every society conducts its fest respectively. The fest season starts in the month of December and lasts till March. then there is an annual fest organized by the college union. The library is good.

Shyam lal college not on my wishlist

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very interesting & it teaches you a lot about the entrepreneurship. Specially in the field of commerce it gives you the right information and exposure to the real world. Subjects like Corporate law , business law , Cost accounting and etc teaches you a lot about practicality.

Underrated College- An honest opinion

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

All about SRCC life, exposure, placements, faculty and my experience

Placement Experience:

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

Dyal Singh College: The Good, The Bad and The Confusing

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Honest review of SLC

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...

My view regarding my college

Remarks:

Academically you can choose it but if you are looking for some fancy institution with some best infrastructure and fancy canteen I won't suggest you this college. But this college has one of the very best cricket team and one of our student named Mayank dagar is leading Indian National under-19 team. So I think you understand the impact.

My journey at you from classrooms to cafe

I applied to several colleges under Delhi university, including Hindu College, kirori mal College and Motilal. I got confirmed admission in Motilal. I choose Motilal because of its good academic reputation, active student societies and comparatively better. The top of my course the faculty is supportive and the location of the college is convenient with a vibrant campus, life and opportunity to participate in various Extra curriculum activities. I couldn't make it to Hindu or kirori mal their cut off is very high. My score is a 430 out of 800. Which wasn't sufficient to a seat in top higher colleges, my school fell shot of the requirements and I later that I should Have more strategically to target these colleges. The admission processor, Delhi University recently chain and now it's completely CUET for undergraduate admission. For my course BA program. The CUETUG is accepted. Students have to apply through common seat allocation system portal of DU where the eligibility is privately based on class 12th marks and CUET score the cut-off very differently on the course and college and student need to prioritise their choice on the CS portal. overall admission experience was smooth but competitive. It require patient and careful planning of courses and college preference. Even though I can't make it to my dream College, I am happy with my choice at Motilal Nehru College of a balance Academy and social environment, and I look forward to make the most of time here....Read More
