Remarks
I gave JEE Mains in 2017 in general quota and then I applied for Punjab Engineering College (PEC) to take admission in the B.tech program. After Counselling, I got B.tech in production and industrial engineering at PEC in 2017. The criteria are that in every counseling step there is opening and closing rank, if the rank lies between them then you can take that program.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am interested in machines and different manufacturing processes, so I took B.tech in production and industrial engineering. All the faculties are highly educated. In the semester, there is one mid-term exam, quizzes, one end-term exam, etc.
Internships Opportunities
From 3rd year, the companies like JPMorgan, Microsoft, Maruti, etc start recruiting for internships. By doing internships, the students learn about the concepts and by doing projects, they get the experience of working on the project.
Placement Experience
From 3rd year, the companies start recruiting for internships for different profiles. And, for the 4th year, the companies start recruiting for placements. The name of the companies are Microsoft, Maruti, Goldman Sach, etc. The highest package offered is 42 lakhs by Microsoft and the average package is around 7 lakh. Almost every student gets placed in companies.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for the B.tech program are around 6 Lakh. There are also some FInancial assistance and scholarships. Many companies start recruiting in the 4th year for placements of students. There are very good job opportunities for students in different areas.
Campus Life
At PEC, there is the annual fest that is PECFEST, which is the largest fest in the north. It is usually in Oct. or in nov. every year. Libraries are very good in terms of study and availability of books. There are many technical like SAE, SME, etc, and non-technical societies like drams, music club, etc for extracurricular activities which are run by students.
Hostel Facilities
There are many hostels in college which are Himalaya Hostel, Shivalik Hostel, etc which are in good condition, The meal quality is good. The total Fees of hostels are around 55000 per year. If someone wants the PG and a rental room, they can take it near the college like in Naya gaon, etc.
