WBJEE. I chose electronics because I always had a nack for it. And also my brother, who passed out from Indian Statistical Institute suggested me to take electronics if I'm willing to choose Future institute as my college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course was well distributed over the 4 years of the curriculum and it included allied subjects too which were very helpful at the time of campussing drive. Along with electronics and communication, telecommunication was also incorporated in the syllabus. All in all, the entire course was a perfect balance for every level of students.
Internships Opportunities
There was no stipends given but the college organised internship programme for 2nd and 3rd year students. Students willing to do internship anywhere other than in the college were also encouraged to do so and the completion certificates were of great merit. A mandatory internal internship was assigned to every 4th year student based on their calliber.
Placement Experience
As far as my year is concerned, there was a 100% placement and big companies like CTS, TCS, INFOSYS, and many more came for the in campusing drive. The minimum package offered was 2.5 lakhs while the maximum was around 6 lakhs. I secured a job in CTS myself and they offered me a 3.2 lakhs package.
College Events
Two cultural festivals were held in the college premises. One organised by the technical streams and the other by the management stream. Both were an annual event and it was as colourful as it could get. Students eagerly waited the whole year for these events and large group of students participated with full enthusiasm.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure was quite feasible and in accordance with the norms. My semester fees was 22000/- which was actually less than a lot of colleges in competition. From our next batch, the semester fees was a bit elevated to 27000/- but still was a very feasible amount.
Fees and Financial Aid
I personally did not avail any loan facility. But from what I have heard, there were special concessions given to the needy students who were eager to study but had some financial problems.
Campus Life
There was a healthy gender ratio in the college. As per my speculations, a 3:2 ratio will define my statement. And the best thing I noticed about the college was there was no political influence or parties. Any problem the students faced could directly be addressed to the management with complete transparency.
Exam Structure
The exam structure was semester based and I, myself found it to be a very enriching experience. For any student who did his/her daily studies, giving exams was a fun experience altogether. There were internal tests also, whose marks were carried forward to the main semester exam.
Admission
I got admission to the institute based on the rank that I secured in my entrance test . My rank was 6400 and after doing some research, I found out that Future institute will be the best choice for me. A counselling session was held in salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata where the representatives helped me with the admission process.
Faculty
The faculty was one of the finest that is have experienced. Almost all of them were highly qualified with a strong background of the subjects they were assigned to teach and also any other subject related to the field. Internal tests and surprise tests were arranged every now and then to help alleviate the pressure of last minute preparations.
